Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joao Freitas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Ridgeon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freitas comes into the arena with Attack - 30 Seconds to Mars blaring out of the sound system. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ridgeon gets caught flat footed, as Freitas shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Freitas wants to pass the guard but Ridgeon is keeping the position.
Ridgeon wants to hit a switch here but Freitas passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Ridgeon there!

Freitas is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ridgeon to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ridgeon shrugs it off.

Jarkko throws an elbow that misses. Nagiev uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jarkko's guard. Nice move by Nagiev!

Nagiev stands up and waves to Jarkko to follow him.
Jarkko shoots in looking for a takedown but Nagiev manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jarkko's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Naru Jarkko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jarkko throws a strike but Nagiev rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Nagiev gets to his feet. Jarkko looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Jarkko will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Nagiev takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

and Nagiev counters with a thumping low kick.
Jarkko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nagiev manages to avoid it.
Nagiev looks to land a left hand but Jarkko moved out of range nicely.

Nagiev throws a hook to the side of Jarkko's head but Jarkko sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jarkko shoots in but Nagiev avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Naru Jarkko dominated that second round.
That's time! Jarkko's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

No joy there for Nagiev, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jarkko throws a lazy right hand but Nagiev sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jarkko swings for the body but Nagiev moves out of range.

Jarkko dives in and grabs Nagiev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nagiev pushes down on Jarkko's head and hops out.
Jarkko tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nagiev was well out of range. Poor timing from Jarkko.
Jarkko will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Jarkko swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Nagiev counters with a big head kick but Jarkko shrugs it off.
Jarkko shoots in looking for a takedown. Nagiev tries to sprawl out of it but Jarkko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nagiev manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Naru Jarkko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Jarkko throws a solid leg kick but Nagiev takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Jarkko.

and Nagiev counters with a head kick. That will keep Jarkko thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Nagiev counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Wanderlei Bustamante!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, DepaC Pakamara!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bustamante tries for a takedown but Pakamara sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bustamante throws a sloppy head kick and Pakamara moves out of range easily.
Pakamara misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pakamara thows a body shot but no joy.
Bustamante moves out of range as Pakamara throws a body kick.
Bustamante dodges the punch combination from Pakamara.
Bustamante tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pakamara manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Bustamante knocks Pakamara to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?

Pakamara is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Bustamante tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Pakamara is still in real trouble! Can Bustamante finish him?
Bustamante in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Bustamante misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Pakamara seems to have recovered his senses.
Bustamante throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Pakamara works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Bustamante looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pakamara with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Pakamara tries to roll over but Bustamante keeps him under control.

Bustamante is fighting to break Pakamara's control of his arms but Pakamara is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Bustamante got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pakamara has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bustamante has managed to get both his arms back between Pakamara's legs - danger averted.

Bustamante looking to sit in guard and control but Pakamara gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Pakamara has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bustamante to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Pakamara is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bustamante pulls down on the head and he's put Pakamara to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Wanderlei Bustamante!
During a confident post fight interview, Wanderlei Bustamante thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
