The bell rings for round one and we are underway! fc lands a head kick. DoA smiles back at him and beckons him forward. DoA tries to clinch but fc moves away and DoA takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. fc keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
DoA tries to clinch up and fc counters with a three punch combo that has DoA backing up. DoA nods at fc to acknowledge the strikes. DoA throws a lazy head kick and fc moves into the clinch. fc pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. DoA looks to clinch and fc counters with a left and a right that stings DoA. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! fc takes the fight into the clinch. The referee is keeping an eye on fc - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

DoA is trying to break the clinch but fc is controlling him. DoA is trying to force a seperation but fc has the dominant position. fc breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Saggett comes to the cage accompanied by Full House Theme Song. Betancourt has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Susana Betancourt struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice inside leg kick there by Saggett. That's going to slow Betancourt down. Betancourt looks gassed! Saggett pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Saggett staggers Betancourt with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Betancourt looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!
It looks like Susana Betancourt has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
