The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ondrus misses with an uppercut.

A looping hook to the body misses from Ondrus. Birchum does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ondrus throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Birchum counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Birchum connects with a single shot there.

It looks like Petr Ondrus has been cut.

Ondrus missing with a left hand there. Birchum was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

and Birchum counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Birchum scores with a counter punch that sends Ondrus to the canvas! Birchum smells blood - he's punishing Ondrus with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Ondrus has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Widow is defended easily by Diaz.
Diaz looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Widow uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Diaz.
Diaz shoots in and drives through. Widow sprawls well.
Diaz has a takedown stuffed.
Diaz pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Diaz throws a nice looking combination but Widow bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Horrible takedown by Widow or perhaps it was just good defense by Diaz which made him look bad.
Widow tries to score a power double leg takedown but Diaz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Widow somewhat.
Nate Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Black Widow.
Widow shoots in looking for a takedown but Diaz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Widow's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Widow closes the distance and clinches up with Diaz, looking for a takedown. Widow pushes Diaz against the cage but Diaz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Widow shoots for a double leg takedown but Diaz sprawls well. He's pushed Widow's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Diaz counters with a single leg into guard. Widow didn't expect that.

Diaz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Widow doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Widow manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Phillips is trying to force a seperation but Dent has the dominant position.
Dent has Phillips pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Phillips manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Han misses with a hook. Carolla ducked under it nicely.
Han fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Carolla looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Carolla takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Carolla looks gassed!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Han fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carolla manages to avoid it.
Han keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Carolla.
Han is looking to slow Carolla down with leg kicks.
Carolla blocks a head kick by Han.
Carolla lands with a hook. Han tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Han lands a nice hook to Carolla's body. Carolla takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Han cracks Carolla with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Carolla looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Han finish him?

It looks like Santino Carolla has been cut.
Han lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Han scores with a hook to the body. Carolla takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Han.
Han connects with a knee to the head.
Carolla tries to break free but Han pushes him back against the cage.

Han connects with a nasty looking knee right to Carolla's face.

Carolla avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Han moves into range and clinches up with Carolla.
Han throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Carolla blocks it with crossed arms.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Han throws a hook to the side of Carolla's head but Carolla sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Han feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Carolla's calf.
Carolla connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Carolla is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Han moves away from the strike by Carolla.
Carolla ducks under a wild hook from Han.
Carolla looks to score with a jab to the body but Han is just out of range.
Carolla gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Han swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Han closes the distance and pushes Carolla back into the cage.
Han scores a nice knee to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Han manages to break the clinch.
Carolla takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Han swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Carolla avoids the body shot from Han.

Han closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
