Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Stokes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ajib Farrah! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Farrah feints and as Stokes raises his hands in defense, Farrah changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Farrah trying to control the position from guard on top but Stokes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Farrah with a flurry of punches that miss. Stokes preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Farrah throws a strike but Stokes rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Stokes is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Farrah is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stokes defends well. Farrah throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Stokes escapes and throws Farrah's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Farrah tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stokes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Stokes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Farrah keeps working. Stokes takes a little break here. Farrah wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Farrah is trying to get back to half guard. Farrah wants to control but Stokes postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Farrah tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Stokes presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Farrah is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Farrah is looking to get to half guard. Stokes working away from the top, dropping strikes. Farrah is trying to escape the mount.
Stokes lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Farrah can't escape the position.
Stokes controlling the position easily from mount. Farrah reaches up to try and control the position but Stokes seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Farrah rolls and tries to escape and now Stokes has his back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stokes connects with a big shot to the side of Farrah's head.
Stokes is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Farrah. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Farrah is really stuck here.

He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Stokes's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Farrah. Farrah would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Farrah postures up.
Stokes pulls Farrah in close to prevent any damage. Farrah must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Farrah advances to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stokes creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Farrah's defenses. Farrah has had enough of the clinch but Stokes keeps him there for the moment. Stokes crunches a lovely knee into Farrah's ribcage. Stokes lands a body punch. Stokes scores with a shot to the side of Farrah's head. Stokes lands a nice uppercut. Stokes presses Farrah against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Stokes lands a hook to the side of the head. Farrah can't break the clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valdez tries to clinch but Wright moves out of range. Wright looks to land a right hand but Valdez moved out of range. Valdez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Valdez moves in looking to clinch but Wright pushes him off. Wright closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Valdez to the mat! Valdez manages to get full guard. Wright missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Valdez keeping full guard, as Wright tries to pass. Valdez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Wright sitting in guard, not really doing much. Wright is in close to Valdez's body, working some short punches and elbows. David slaps away a takedown attempt from Matmat, before circling back to the center of the mat. Matmat shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Matmat lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
