Undercard bout

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Emory Majors (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Welch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Welch is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Stemm's Face The Pain. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Majors moves out of range of the body kick.
Majors takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Welch tries to keep at a distance but Majors has taken the fight into the clinch.

Majors successfully pulls guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Majors working a defensive guard but Welch manages to pass into side control anyway.
Welch in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Welch creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Welch wants to lay and pray for a moment but Majors keeps working.

I really don't envy Welch right now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Majors feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Undercard bout

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roland Deschain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lakanik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deschain kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Giving In-- As made famous by Adema. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
