The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Markson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Van Amstel's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Markson landing some decent shots from guard.
Van Amstel wants to stand but Markson is controlling the position.
Markson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Van Amstel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Markson prevents Van Amstel from getting back to his feet.
Markson wants to get up but he can't break Van Amstel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Markson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Van Amstel wants to stand and escape but Markson is having none of it.

No joy there for Wash, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tyler looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Wash lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Tyler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wash paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wash scores with a three punch combo!
Wash misses with a two punch combination.
Tyler showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Wash.
Wash scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Mouth Wash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tyler gets caught flat footed, as Wash shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Tyler thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Tyler manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Needham throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Needham throws a right hand that Onatop ducks under and follows up with a left that Onatop also avoids with ease.

Mike Needham seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Onatop feints a jab promting Needham to slip. Onatop then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Needham slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Gasano stalks Radmonvich and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Radmonvich's face. Radmonvich staggers backwards, shaken.
Gasano tries to bum rush Radmonvich with a series of wild strikes but Radmonvich uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gasano will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That was a close second round but I would say that Igor Radmonvich will probably get the nod.
