The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Torn throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ortiz shoots in but no luck this time. Nice takedown defense from Torn. No joy for Ortiz on that attempt. Torn scores with a shot to the body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A cross from Diaz lands. Diaz throws a lazy right hand but Bitag sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Diaz cracks Bitag with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Diaz throws out a powerful jab. Bitag slips under a jab. Diaz misses with a straight left. Bitag on the wrong end of a nice jab. Bitag closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bitag throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bitag seems to be looking for submissions.
Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Bitag is working for a kimura but Diaz is defending it quite comfortably.
Diaz won't allow Bitag to pass to mount. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bitag throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Bitag is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shady throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Res tries a body shot but Shady blocks it.
Shady is trying to maintain a safe position but Res gets an underhook and turns Shady into the cage. Shady tries to break free but Res pushes him back against the cage. Shady is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Res to keep the fight standing. Res breaks the clinch.
Res tries for a takedown but Shady sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Shady misses with a few strikes there.

Shady looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shady looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shady! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Res is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Shady's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Res is looking to control Shady's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Res avoid being mounted?
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Res looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Shady got a little sloppy there for a moment and Res has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shady has managed to get both his arms back between Res's legs - danger averted. Res has his foot on Shady's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shady works his way back into a safe position though. Res wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Res working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shady doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shady manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Shady throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Shady trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Shady must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shady passes Res's left leg - he's now in half guard. Shady is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Res has managed to free his arm - good work. Res is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shady pulls his head out easily. Shady is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Res! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Res is desperately trying to improve his position but Shady has a good base and remains in mount. Shady is landing with some decent strikes but Res is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ac Res dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Autumn Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hunter.
Hunter feints and then cracks Parantainen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Parantainen down. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hunter fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Parantainen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Autumn Hunter is winning the standup battle so far. Hunter smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
