The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balotelli takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Balotelli on the wrong end of a nice jab. Morgan scores with a jab. Balotelli acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Morgan throws an overhand right that lands on Balotelli's shoulder, as Balotelli tries to avoid the shot. Balotelli thuds his right hand into Morgan's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Morgan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Balotelli swivels and escapes. Balotelli moves into the clinch successfully.
Morgan looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Morgan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Balotelli's elbow. Balotelli manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Piper shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kurt eats them both and turns towards Piper to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Kurt walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Piper keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kurt takes a shot right to the bread basket. Kurt misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kurt shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Piper but Piper pushes him off and we're back to square one. Piper lands a jab to Kurt's midsection. Kurt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Piper. Piper stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James throws a chopping leg kick but Koivu manages to avoid taking any serious damage. James swinging wildly here.

It looks like Janne Koivu has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! James blocks a head kick by Koivu.
