The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hammer has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hammer and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Hammer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hammer might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Balboa scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Patterson to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Balboa away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Patterson got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Balboa weaves into range and cracks Patterson right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Patterson goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Balboa is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.
