10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nate Leissner! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gage throws a lazy right hand but Leissner sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Leissner fails with a takedown attempt. Gage gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Leissner to score an easy takedown into full guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Leissner tries to free his leg and advance position but Gage is retaining full guard. Gage pulls Leissner in close to prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Leissner postures up and lands a big shot to Gage's brow. Leissner lands a couple of elbows. Gage preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Leissner trying to control the position from guard on top but Gage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gage wants to get back to his feet but Leissner is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leissner looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Gage keeping full guard, as Leissner tries to pass. Gage wants to stand but Leissner is controlling the position. Leissner loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Leissner showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Gage is adopting a defensive guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Leissner dodges the punch combination from Gage.
Decent striking displayed by Gage there. Gage with a body punch. A glancing blow. Leissner wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Leissner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gage pushes Leissner off and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Leissner closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gage to the mat! Gage manages to get full guard. Leissner is looking to work some ground and pound but Gage has wrist control. Leissner throws a big elbow that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Leissner trying to control the position from guard on top but Gage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gage is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gage preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Leissner working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Leissner throws a big right hand that misses. Gage might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Leissner slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Gage is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gage has momentary wrist control but Leissner slips an elbow through the middle. Leissner wants to control from the top but Gage keeps moving. Leissner throwing strikes from guard but Gage blocks nicely. Leissner cracks Gage with a solid left hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Leissner scoring with punches to the head and body. Gage is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Leissner prevents Gage from getting back to his feet. Leissner postures up in Gage's guard and throws a big left but Gage blocks it. Gage has momentary wrist control but Leissner slips an elbow through the middle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nate Leissner dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Leissner counters with a takedown into side control. Leissner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Leissner trying to control the action but Gage is working from the bottom. Gage parries the strikes from Leissner easily there. Leissner is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gage to escape.
Gage struggling a bit here. Leissner throws a strike aimed at the side of Gage's head but Gage avoids it well. Leissner throwing shots but missing, from side control. Leissner landing a few strikes. Leissner lands some shots froms side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gage is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Leissner asserts his dominance and retains side control. The strikes coming from Leissner are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leissner lands a few punches from side control. Gage is not content to let Leissner control the position. Gage wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Leissner advances to mount. Leissner won't let Gage get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Leissner looking to control but Gage is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Gage tries to get back to half guard but can't. Leissner with good strikes from the mount here! Leissner lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gage is working to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gage is in a horrible position here. Leissner smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Leissner looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Leissner punishing his opponent with strikes. Leissner wants to control the pace but Gage is squirming around nicely. Leissner controlling the pace for now. Leissner landing punches. Gage tries to hold on but Leissner pushes him away. Leissner thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gage is working to get back to half guard.
Leissner lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. A nice elbow there by Leissner.
Gage is rocked! Gage takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Oh Gage is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Leissner in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Leissner loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Gage scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Leissner land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Leissner stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nate Leissner! During a confident post fight interview, Nate Leissner thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

Ramis paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Steinburger pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Steinburger takes one on the button. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Steinburger.
Ramis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Ramis lands a glancing blow to the side of Steinburger's head.
It looks like Charles Steinburger has been cut. Steinburger defending well as Ramis loads up on a big left hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ramis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lee has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lee and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Lee takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Phooey on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Lee throws a leg kick which misses Phooey's front leg but catches the back leg as Phooey tries to avoid it. Hong Kong Phooey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. "I'm sorry" says Lee. Phooey manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Phooey feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Lee's calf.

Lee tries to land a front kick but Phooey steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Phooey feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Lee's calf. A chopping leg kick lands by Phooey. Lee doesn't manage to clinch there - Phooey circles away.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! No joy there for Vaughn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Valquez is looking for a sweep. Saint is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Saint sitting and controlling from the half guard. Saint lands with a punch from half guard. Vischi throws a front kick aimed at Inoue's knee but Inoue avoids it well. Inoue throws a hook to the side of Vischi's head but Vischi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. The fight moves into the clinch position. Inoue tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vischi just stands there and leans against the cage. Vischi tries a knee to the head but Inoue blocks it.

Inoue throws a leg kick but Vischi sees it coming and moves out of range. Vischi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Vischi throws a combination that misses and Inoue counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Vischi tries to get to full guard but Inoue has control of the leg. Vischi is aware though and is defending well. Inoue will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. This has been an exciting period of action! Inoue bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Inoue thuds a left hand into Vischi's body. Vischi gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Vischi throws out a loose jab but Inoue uses good head movement to avoid it. Inoue misses with a hook. Vischi ducked under it nicely. Inoue lands with a shot to the body. The fighters circling - Inoue throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Inoue with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Vischi throws a shot from downtown. Inoue moves away and avoids it. Inoue chopping away at his opponent's legs.

A low kick from Inoue is predictable there and Vischi counters by clinching up. Vischi is trying to break the clinch but Inoue is controlling him. Vischi has a couple of punches blocked by Inoue.
Inoue is working for takedown but Vischi is calmly controlling the position for now. Vischi works on Inoue's body with a couple of short punches. Vischi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Inoue gets tackled into the cage by Vischi. Vischi maintains the clinch. Inoue is trying to pull guard but Vischi has him pressed against the cage. Vischi's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Vischi scores with a shoulder strike. Vischi lands with a short shot to the head. Vischi lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Inoue backwards. Inoue misses with the head strike.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vischi trying to stand up but can't free himself from Inoue's guard. Inoue looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Inoue has a closed guard, preventing Vischi from standing up. Vischi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Inoue has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vischi has managed to get both his arms back between Inoue's legs - danger averted. Vischi tries to stand but Inoue is controlling from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Inoue throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Vischi escapes and throws Inoue's legs to the side, diving into side control! Inoue manages to get back to half guard. Inoue actively working from the bottom here. Inoue looking for submissions off his back. Inoue is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Vischi jumps into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Inoue tries to bench press Vischi off him but Vischi keeps the position. Vischi wants to stand but Inoue is controlling his arm. Inoue tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vischi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Inoue sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Vischi wants to get back to his feet.

Yuya Inoue wins by unanimous decision! Yuya Inoue is the new light heavyweight champion! After the fight, Yuya Inoue was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
