The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Potter or perhaps it was just good defense by Komarov which made him look bad.
Komarov darts in trying to clinch

and Potter counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Komarov's guard now.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Potter stands and throws Komarov's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Komarov could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Komarov is looking to regain half guard here but Potter keeps moving and retains side control.

Potter is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Komarov is trying to escape and Potter transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Komarov is forced to tap! Nice work there by Potter! Very nice indeed!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lewis is working an open guard so Nicolas takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Farrelly throws a jab but it's blocked by Sonnen.

Sonnen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Farrelly looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Let's hope that Sonnen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
