Mann is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Abbott is pushing down on Mann's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mann is fighting to maintain full guard but Abbott has managed to sneak the leg through.

Mann manages to get to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mann can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mann is trying to keep Abbott in close.
Abbott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mann swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Abbott trying to control the position from guard on top but Mann is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Mann tries to sprawl but Abbott drives through with a takedown into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Abbott seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A combination from Abbott does no damage.
Mann tries to land a front kick but Abbott steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Mann just misses with a punch to the body.
Mann thows a body shot but no joy.
Abbott bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mann's head.
Mann throws a low kick but Abbott moves out of range easily.
Abbott comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

enabling Abbott to counter with a crisp jab.
Abbott takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mann feints a jab promting Abbott to slip. Mann then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Abbott slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Abbott keeps the fight on the outside.

Mann will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mann misses with a body shot.
Abbott moves out of range of the strikes.
Mann swings for the body but Abbott moves out of range.

Abbott shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Abbott was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Abbott loads up with a big shot that hurts Mann! He's pulled Abbott in close but Abbott has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Mann survive? More strikes from Abbott and Mann is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
