The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy pivots, looking for a leg kick but Vaakku is out of range and Murphy settles back down.
Vaakku lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Vaakku looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Jarkko Vaakku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A big right from Murphy misses.
Murphy missing with a left hand there. Vaakku was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Vaakku tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Murphy paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Some bone on bone action there as Murphy checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vaakku is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Murphy is defending well for now.

Murphy tries to work over Vaakku's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Vaakku jumps guard and drags Murphy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Vaakku is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Murphy frees his head nicely. Oh but Vaakku has switched to an armbar! Murphy is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
