Lynn looks to land a body kick but Garz moved away.
Fabi Garz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oooooh!!! Garz has knocked Lynn down with a huge combo! Garz steps away and waves a wobbly Lynn back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Peter Lynn has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lynn tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Garz counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Garz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lynn.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald thows a body shot but no joy.
Fitch circles away from the clinch attempt.
McDonald takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Good exchange - Fitch coming out on top.
Fitch slips a jab and a cross from McDonald.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Fitch.
McDonald is trying to improve his position.
Fitch content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Fitch throws a strike aimed at the side of McDonald's head but McDonald avoids it well.

Fitch wants to control for a moment but McDonald uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

McDonald is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fitch pulls his head out easily.
McDonald is pressing down on Fitch's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Fitch working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

McDonald is looking for a triangle here but Fitch uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Fitch thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Fitch lands an elbow.
McDonald is looking for a sweep.
McDonald manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
McDonald regains full guard. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McDonald has an active guard here but Fitch has managed to pass into half guard.
McDonald wants to get back to full guard but Fitch has passed into side control.

McDonald is looking to regain half guard here but Fitch keeps moving and retains side control.

Fitch advances to full mount.

McDonald is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

McDonald is squirming around, avoiding Fitch's attempts to control the action.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Fitch cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Fitch dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


McDonald tries to bum rush Fitch with a series of wild strikes but Fitch uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Fitch shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McDonald napping and manages to drive through into side control!

McDonald takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
McDonald is not content to let Fitch control the position.
Fitch looks up at the clock and then as McDonald takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Fitch smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Fitch wants to lay and pray for a moment but McDonald keeps working.
McDonald is looking for a sweep.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fitch is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt McDonald will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
McDonald manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

McDonald is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Fitch is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
