0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bud Spencer! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nguyen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Spencer throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Nguyen crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Spencer - the referee stops the clock and Nguyen gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Spencer. Nguyen manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Nice takedown defense from Spencer. No joy for Nguyen on that attempt. Nguyen has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Nguyen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nguyen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Spencer counters with a good low kick that Nguyen was not able to check. Spencer lands a big head kick that sends Nguyen tumbling to the mat! Spencer takes a step backwards and waves Nguyen back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Alex Nguyen has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nguyen shoots for a double leg takedown but Spencer sprawls well. He's pushed Nguyen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nguyen feints and as Spencer raises his hands in defense, Nguyen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Spencer has his foot on Nguyen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nguyen works his way back into a safe position though. Nguyen stops Spencer from standing up. Spencer trying to keep a closed guard but Nguyen is proving a slippery customer.
Nguyen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Spencer is proving hard to escape from.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spencer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Nguyen controlling from the top position. Spencer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nguyen is one step ahead there. Spencer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nguyen closes the distance looking to clinch and Spencer finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spencer scores with a head kick. Nguyen tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Spencer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nguyen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Spencer quickly recovers to half guard. Nguyen is looking to stall here but Spencer recovers full guard. Spencer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Spencer keeping full guard, as Nguyen tries to pass. Spencer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spencer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nguyen keeps working. Nguyen slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Spencer wanted to stand there but Nguyen had control of the position. Spencer trying to control but Nguyen is working from the bottom. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Nguyen wants to sweep but no luck.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bud Spencer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Spencer lands with a kick to the ribs.
Nguyen is looking to clinch. Bud Spencer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Spencer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nguyen. Nguyen looks for a takedown but Spencer sprawls well. Spencer connects with a nice looking jab.
A slow jab from Spencer misses its intended target. Nguyen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nguyen throws a right hand that Spencer ducks under and follows up with a left that Spencer also avoids with ease. Spencer goes for a high kick. It partially lands. This has been an exciting period of action! Spencer leaves Nguyen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Spencer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nguyen moves away.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Nguyen shoots in but Spencer avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nguyen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Spencer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Nguyen moves into range and clinches up with Spencer. Nguyen struggles to land a body shot inside as Spencer controls his hands.
Spencer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nguyen walks away with a smile on his face. Spencer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Nguyen shoots in for a takedown but Spencer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Spencer lands a high kick!

Spencer connects with a leg kick. Nguyen looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Spencer connects with a jab.

Nguyen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Spencer sprawls well initially but Nguyen persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Spencer looks gassed! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Spencer makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Both fighters circling a little - Spencer finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Nguyen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spencer as he avoids it easily. Spencer thows a body shot but no joy. Spencer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Nguyen at a distance.
Spencer connects with a body shot that sends Nguyen's belly button to the back. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Spencer, right into the meat.

Nguyen shoots in but no luck this time. Spencer throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Nguyen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Spencer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nguyen somewhat. Spencer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nguyen tries to clinch but Spencer moves out of range. Spencer stuffs the takedown attempt from Nguyen. Nguyen gets slowly back to his feet. Spencer fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Spencer connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Nguyen's hands. Spencer scores with a nice head shot. Nguyen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Spencer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Spencer wants it to stay on the feet. Spencer lands a nice leg kick that just misses Nguyen's sensitive parts. Nguyen fails to land the takedown. Nguyen dodges the punch combination from Spencer.
Nice body kick there by Spencer. Spencer is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Nguyen rather than just go for the knockout. Nguyen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Spencer throws out the jab. Nguyen wants to clinch. Nguyen misses with a takedown attempt - Spencer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Spencer displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nguyen. Nguyen shoots in for a takedown but Spencer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Nguyen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Spencer is trying to defend but Nguyen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Spencer is trying to control but Nguyen manages to pass to mount!
And that's the end of the fight! Bud Spencer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Spencer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Moore wants to slow Schmoe down by chopping away at his legs. Schmoe darts in and clinches Moore up against the cage. Schmoe gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Schmoe is trying for a kimura here. Moore looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Schmoe wins by kimura!
