The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mike throws a series of punches but Reyes avoids them all with ease.
Reyes fails to land with a series of punches.
Mike lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Reyes circles away quickly and effectively.
Mike swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Reyes rushes Mike and presses him up against the cage.

Reyes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mike throws a half hearted mid kick.

Reyes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mike is trying to keep Reyes in close.
Mike can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Reyes controls the pace.

Reyes drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mike looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mike looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mike!
Mike tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Mike tries to move into full mount but can't pass Reyes's legs.
Reyes is trying to control Mike's posture but Mike avoids it.
Reyes sneaks back into half guard.
Mike is just content to waste time from the top position. Reyes takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Reyes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mike manages to get himself to full guard.

Reyes is stalling in the full guard.
Mike wants to stand but Reyes is controlling the position.
Mike is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reyes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mike.
Mike throws a head kick that misses.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mike wants to control but Reyes is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mike misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Mike trying to hold on to Reyes's head to control him but Reyes postures up.

Reyes has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mike defend it? Reyes steps over the head and cranks it - Mike is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Reyes!

Ivan Nifontov struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 146.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. I think Arboleda might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to ASTAROTH - GUERRA DE METAL. Tanaka is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Yuudachi. Shinji Tanaka is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Arboleda tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Tanaka manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Tanaka throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Arboleda tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tanaka is in Arboleda's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Tanaka sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Arboleda's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tanaka is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Tanaka wants to work for an arm triangle but Arboleda is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arboleda tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Tanaka shoots for a double leg takedown but Arboleda sprawls well. He's pushed Tanaka's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Tanaka is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Arboleda doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tanaka.
Tanaka seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Arboleda does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Tanaka in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Arboleda tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Tanaka!

Ferrari lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Ferrari lands a big uppercut and Pogue crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Pogue looks OK. Ferrari waves Pogue back to his feet!

Ferrari looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Ferrari backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Pogue's temple! It sends Pogue violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Ferrari celebrates and the doctors try to help Pogue!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Vito Ferrari!
