Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shunsuke Mizuno! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rambo Kawajiri! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mizuno connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Mizuno leaves Kawajiri with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kawajiri shoots in looking for a takedown but Mizuno manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kawajiri's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Kawajiri doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mizuno counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Shunsuke Mizuno has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rambo Kawajiri. Kawajiri shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mizuno's guard. Mizuno on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mizuno tries to get out of the position. Kawajiri trying to control the position from guard on top but Mizuno is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mizuno is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rambo Kawajiri wasn't active enough on the ground. Mizuno throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kawajiri sees it coming and avoids it easily. Kawajiri closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. A jab from Mizuno misses. Kawajiri looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kawajiri gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Mizuno. Kawajiri fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mizuno throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kawajiri with a poor takedown and Mizuno counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A punch combination from Kawajiri misses. Kawajiri ducks under a wild hook from Mizuno. Kawajiri takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kawajiri tries for a takedown but Mizuno circles away easily and Mizuno counters with a lovely shot to the body. Kawajiri steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mizuno. Mizuno paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Kawajiri will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kawajiri gets caught flat footed, as Mizuno shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mizuno accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kawajiri controls Mizuno momentarily but Mizuno frees himself. Mizuno in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mizuno trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mizuno trying to control but Kawajiri is working from the bottom. Mizuno throws a strike but Kawajiri rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Mizuno wants to stand up but Kawajiri is controlling him. Kawajiri stopping the sweep attempt from Mizuno. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kawajiri trying to control but Mizuno is working from the bottom.

Mizuno is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kawajiri is aware though and is defending well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mizuno looks to land a combination. Kawajiri sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Kawajiri looks to score with a jab to the body but Mizuno is just out of range. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kawajiri. Shunsuke Mizuno is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kawajiri gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Kawajiri tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mizuno throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kawajiri works some decent striking defense from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kawajiri has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mizuno can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Mizuno chips away with some ground and pound. Kawajiri is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mizuno has escaped the position, nice work there. Mizuno might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kawajiri controlling the position from side mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kawajiri looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mizuno with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Mizuno tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Kawajiri manages to move to mount!
Kawajiri wants to finish this one by submission but Mizuno is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kawajiri. Kawajiri working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Mizuno turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Kawajiri off and cradles Mizuno's limp body as Kawajiri celebrates with his corner.

It looks like Wes Chapman has been cut. Chapman misses with a body kick. Harris misses with a wild body shot. Harris misses with a wild body shot. Wes Chapman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Harris throws the left hand but Chapman avoids the punch easily. Chapman pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Harris scores with a nice strike. Chapman closes the distance and clinches. Harris presses Chapman against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Harris has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Chapman regains guard immediately. Harris trying to control the position from guard on top but Chapman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Harris would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That sent Chapman stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Harris is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Chapman rather than just go for the knockout. Harris thuds his right hand into Chapman's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. A punch combination from Harris misses. Chapman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Harris is fending him off so far but Chapman persists. Nope, Harris circles away and we're back to standing. Harris is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Chapman.

Jeez, Wes Chapman's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Harris's jab looks to have found its range, popping Chapman under the eye.
Chapman is rocked! Chapman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Harris as he avoids it easily. Oh Chapman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Harris misses with a straight left. Chapman seems to have got his legs back now. Harris bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Chapman's head backwards.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Wes Chapman's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Hard has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Lee is positioning himself well to prevent Hard advancing to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This has been an exciting period of action! The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lee checks a leg kick. Hard blocks a head kick by Lee.
Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hard with a nice cross. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hard avoids the head kick by Lee.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch but Hard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Lee keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dai Hard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lee's half guard. Hard seems to be working for a kimura but Lee defends the submission attempt. Hard perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Lee makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Hard avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Hard manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Hard is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hard preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hard has a closed guard, preventing Lee from standing up. Hard tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hard has his foot on Lee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lee works his way back into a safe position though. Lee gets to his feet. Hard looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Hard takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. This has been an exciting period of action! Hard looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lee is fending him off so far but Hard persists. Nope, Lee circles away and we're back to standing. Lee darts in and clinches Hard up against the cage. Hard lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Hard is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lee knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Lee tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hard wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Lee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Lee is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hard asserts his dominance and retains side control. Hard tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Dai Hard is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Hard trying to control the action but Lee is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Check out the look on Hard's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Dziuk keeping moving, preventing Karelin from controlling successfully. Karelin throws a big elbow that misses. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Dacir. Rose lands a nice looking body shot.
Dacir throws a half hearted mid kick. Rose throws an off balance right hand
and Dacir counters with a lovely shot to the body. Dacir turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Rose gets in close and instigates a clinch. Rose trying to land knees to the body.
Dacir breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dacir lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Rose has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Rose and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Dacir avoids a punch combination nicely.

Rose swings wildly with an uppercut but Dacir uses good head movement to avoid it. Rose lands an elbow inside that Dacir shrugs off. Dacir trying to control the position but instead, Rose has worked for underhooks and has pushed Dacir into the cage. A knee to the head by Rose.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dacir's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dacir misses with a straight right. Rose scores with a jab. Dacir acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Rose throws a good cross that connects.
Rose fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dacir. Dacir throws a shot from downtown. Rose moves away and avoids it. A punch combination from Rose misses. Rose takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zabawka moves away from the strike by Yodsuwan. A punch combination from Yodsuwan misses. Zabawka changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yodsuwan tries to avoid it but Zabawka manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yodsuwan to the ground. Yodsuwan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Yodsuwan takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Franklin tries to close the distance and clinch but Reyes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Franklin looks to score with a jab to the body but Reyes is just out of range. Franklin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Reyes. A clash of legs there as Franklin blocks the low kick. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jamie Reyes. Well Reyes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
