8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Darth Penguin! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! LaVey throws a shot to the body.
Penguin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. LaVey sprawls well initially but Penguin persists and gets the takedown into half guard. LaVey is refusing to be controlled, as Penguin sits in half guard. Penguin tries to pass to full mount but LaVey defends it. Penguin is keen to just control but LaVey is a slippery customer. LaVey desperately trying to maintain half guard. Penguin stops LaVey from getting back to his feet.
Penguin wants to pass to mount but LaVey is defending the position. LaVey wants to get back to full guard. LaVey is working hard here to advance position. Penguin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. LaVey has one foot on Penguin's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. LaVey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. LaVey misses with the combination.

It looks like Darth Penguin has been cut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. LaVey looks to land a left hand but Penguin moved out of range nicely. LaVey falls off balance throwing a combination
and Penguin counters with a single leg into guard. LaVey didn't expect that. Penguin trying to control the position from guard on top but LaVey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Penguin lands a couple of elbows. LaVey wants to sweep here but Penguin controlling him for the moment. Penguin wants to control from the top but LaVey keeps moving. There's a bit of a scramble here and now LaVey is on top in guard.
LaVey wants to pass the guard but Penguin is keeping the position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Penguin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. LaVey gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Penguin shoots in but LaVey avoids the takedown attempt easily. Penguin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but LaVey paws at him with a jab and circles away. Penguin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. LaVey did well to prevent Penguin getting side control. Penguin works his foot free and advances to mount. Penguin trying to control but he's not successful this time. Penguin with shots to the head and body - LaVey looks very uncomfortable down there. Penguin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. LaVey can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Penguin stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Anton LaVey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A combination from LaVey does no damage.

and Penguin counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. LaVey throws a series of punches but Penguin avoids them all with ease. Anton LaVey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Penguin has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by LaVey. Penguin scores a takedown into full mount! Penguin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around LaVey's waist but LaVey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Penguin off to one side. Penguin is breathing heavily. Penguin shoots in looking for a takedown. LaVey tries to sprawl out of it but Penguin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. LaVey walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Penguin drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! LaVey swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Penguin's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aoki manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hanks on his heels. He'll look to pass Hanks's guard now, I'm sure. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Hanks preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Aoki tries to free his leg and advance position but Hanks is retaining full guard. Hanks is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aoki trying to control but Hanks is working from the bottom. Aoki throwing strikes but missing. Aoki trying to control the position from guard on top but Hanks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hanks utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hanks pulls Aoki in close to prevent any damage.

Hanks has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter misses with a takedown attempt - Down sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hunter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hunter showed some decent athleticism there. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Hunter is trying to work for a kimura but Down is defending well.

Hunter is landing with some decent strikes but Down is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Hunter is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Down can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
