Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bongo Bongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elmeri Salonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bongo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bang Time. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Elmeri Salonen! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salonen swats away the attempt to clinch by Bongo. Salonen tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bongo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Salonen's guard. Bongo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bongo throwing strikes but missing. Salonen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bongo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bongo is looking to work some ground and pound but Salonen has wrist control. Bongo scoring with some ground and pound. Bongo thows a big elbow that misses. Bongo works over Salonen with some ground and pound from guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bongo thows a big elbow that misses. Bongo with a nice head shot there.

He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Bongo throws and elbow that misses. Salonen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bongo's guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. Bongo has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Bongo looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Salonen trying to control the position from guard on top but Bongo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Salonen is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Salonen preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bongo Bongo dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Salonen wants to clinch and Bongo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Salonen looking to slow down the pace here. A head punch on the inside from Salonen fails to land. Salonen drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bongo gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Salonen tries to break the clinch but Bongo is controlling the position. Bongo tries to pull guard but Salonen holds him up against the cage and eventually Bongo drops back down to his feet.
Salonen is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Bongo is keeping busy. Salonen is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Bongo has denied him. Bongo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salonen wants to clinch and Bongo counters with a nice double leg into guard. Bongo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Salonen has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Bongo off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bongo is nestled in close to Salonen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Bongo scoring with strikes to the body and head. Bongo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Salonen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Salonen is trying to stand back up but Bongo is controlling him

Bongo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Salonen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bongo missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Bongo sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Salonen defending well though. Bongo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bongo throwing shots but Salonen is blocking nicely.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Salonen slaps away a takedown attempt from Bongo, before circling back to the center of the mat. Salonen wants to clinch but Bongo slips to the side and Bongo counters by moving into the clinch. Salonen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Salonen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Salonen wants to clinch and Bongo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Salonen's guard. Bongo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Salonen works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bongo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bongo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Bongo distracts Salonen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Bongo lands a couple of elbows. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bongo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Salonen has his feet on Bongo's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

No joy there for Salonen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bongo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Salonen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Salonen swats away the attempt to clinch by Bongo. Bongo tries to keep at a distance but Salonen has taken the fight into the clinch. Salonen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bongo walks away with a smile on his face. Salonen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Salonen closes the distance looking to clinch and Bongo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Salonen! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bongo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Salonen's face.

Bongo Bongo dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Salonen darts in trying to clinch and Bongo counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Salonen is lucky that one didn't land flush. Nice takedown defense from Salonen. No joy for Bongo on that attempt. Salonen wants to clinch and Bongo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bongo. Bongo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Salonen can do to turn this around? Bongo with a flurry of punches that miss. Salonen keeping full guard, as Bongo tries to pass. Bongo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bongo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bongo postures up in Salonen's guard and throws a big left but Salonen blocks it. Salonen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Bongois looking to pass into half guard but Salonen pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Salonen is in guard. Bongo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bongo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Bongo Bongo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bongo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Salonen stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Salonen defends it nicely. Elmeri Salonen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Salonen closes the distance but Bongo moves to the side and Bongo counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bongo. Bongo has Salonen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Salonen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bongo Bongo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Salonen putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Bongo in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Salonen wants a takedown.

Puciato tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Robson is able to avoid easily. Puciato closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Robson to the mat! Robson manages to get full guard. Puciato works over Robson with some ground and pound from guard. Puciato wants to pass the guard but Robson is keeping the position. Robson keeping moving, preventing Puciato from controlling successfully. Robson looking for a sweep. Not yet Robson, not yet. Robson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Puciato thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Robson is looking to stand up but Puciato isn't so interested in that idea. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stonehouse shoots in for a double leg but Foster sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Foster shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Stonehouse counters with a low kick, right behind Foster 's knee. Foster is breathing heavily. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Stonehouse, right into the meat.
Stonehouse wants to clinch up but Foster keeps it at a distance. Stonehouse moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stonehouse throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Stonehouse throws a nice looking combination but Foster bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Good work by Foster as he checks the leg kick. Nice work. Foster feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Stonehouse seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Foster does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Foster takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Stonehouse looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Stonehouse throws a head kick but Foster moves out of range.

Paul Stonehouse showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Foster postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stonehouse is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Foster, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Stonehouse stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Foster swivels though and keeps the full guard. Foster keeping moving, preventing Stonehouse from controlling successfully. Foster is working an open guard so Stonehouse takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Stonehouse fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Stonehouse throws a combination that misses and Foster decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stonehouse's guard.

Stonehouse escapes and throws Foster's legs to the side, diving into side control! Stonehouse is trying to get an arm triangle but Foster is defending well. Foster is trying to get back to half guard. Stonehouse passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Foster!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Stonehouse looking to control but Foster is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Foster tries to control Stonehouse's body but Stonehouse pushes him off. Foster squirms to his side and now Stonehouse has his back! What can Foster do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Paul Stonehouse is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Stonehouse is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Foster knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Foster for a finish. Foster just trying to survive but Stonehouse is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Hegarty! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brannon shoots in looking for a takedown. Hegarty tries to sprawl out of it but Brannon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hegarty manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hegarty shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Brannon counters with a nice double leg into guard. Brannon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Brannon thows a big elbow that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brannon preventing the sweep. Brannon makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Brannon scoring with some ground and pound. Brannon drops back looking for a leg! Hegarty is in trouble here! Hegarty might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brannon kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Brannon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hegarty throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brannon works some decent striking defense from the bottom. I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Brannon throwing strikes from guard but Hegarty blocks nicely. Brannon has gone for a leg lock! Hegarty slips out almost immediately though and dives into Brannon's guard. Hegarty is looking to stand up but Brannon won't let him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hegarty drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Brannon dives on top into guard. Hegarty throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Hegarty has momentary wrist control but Brannon slips an elbow through the middle. Hegarty is trying to hold Brannon in close to prevent damage but Brannon has managed to pass into half guard.

Brannon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hegarty sees it coming and defends easily. Hegarty on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Hegarty pushes Brannon off looking to stand but Brannon dives back in and keeps control.

Hegarty closes the distance and clinches. Brannon works on Hegarty's body with a couple of short punches. Brannon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hegarty gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hegarty's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Brannon keeping moving, preventing Hegarty from controlling successfully. Brannon throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Brannon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brannon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hegarty looking to control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Brannon cracks Hegarty with a good jab. A nice combination there by Brannon.
Brannon throws a hook but Hegarty avoids it easily. A slapping body kick lands there for Hegarty. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brannon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Hegarty avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Brannon.
And that's the end of the fight! Jack Brannon showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Brannon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Flagg creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Jones tries a body shot but Flagg blocks it.

Crusher tries to close the distance and clinch but zinger swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. zinger bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jack lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but jackson circles away quickly and effectively. jackson shoots in but Jack avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jack misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jack keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jack throws a series of punches but jackson moves out of range. jackson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jack keeps working. Jack is looking to regain half guard here but jackson keeps moving and retains side control. jackson wants to control but Jack is keeping him busy. jackson wants to control for a moment but Jack uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. jackson has hold of the far side arm. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zu throws a sloppy head kick and Davis moves out of range easily. Zu scores with a kick to the midsection. Zu throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Zu lands a nice leg kick that just misses Davis's sensitive parts. No joy there for Davis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Zu tries to work over Davis's front leg with a kick but Davis checks it. Zu stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zu wants it to stay on the feet. A head kick from Zu lands but Davis takes it in his stride. A good leg kick by Zu. Zu chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Davis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Zu is trying to buck Davis off. Zu wants to control but Davis postures up. Davis is looking to take a break and control but Zu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Zu's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Davis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Zu bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Davis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Some bone on bone action there as Davis checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Davis tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Davis is breathing heavily. A solid leg kick lands there for Zu.
Davis walks forward, straight into a front kick from Zu. Zu lands with a kick to the temple. Davis shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Zu throws out a leg kick but Davis moves out of range and Zu only half commits. Davis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Zu sprawls well. Zu is staying active underneath Davis, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Davis is stalling here. Zu is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Davis seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Zu has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Davis tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Davis takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Davis connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Davis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Davis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zu is keeping the position for now. Zu keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully. Davis thows a big elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Davis wants to control from the top but Zu keeps moving. Davis is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Zu is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Davis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Zu manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Davis has Zu in his guard. Davis working for a triangle but Zu defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Davis has his foot on Zu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Zu works his way back into a safe position though. Zu wants to get up but he can't break Davis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Davis throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Davis tries to pull guard but Zu holds him up against the cage and eventually Davis drops back down to his feet.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

and Davis counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Davis. Roman Davis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zu keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully. Zu kicks Davis off and gets to his feet. Roman Davis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Zu throws a head kick but Davis moves out of range.
Zu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Zu throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Davis darts in and clinches Zu up against the cage. Davis is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Zu gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Davis fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Davis is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Davis has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Zu uses from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zu manages to get himself to full guard.
Davis prevents Zu from getting back to his feet. Zhang Zu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Davis trying to control the position from guard on top but Zu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Davis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Davis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zu works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Davis with a flurry of punches that miss. Davis trying to control but Zu is working from the bottom. Davis wants to pass the guard but Zu is keeping the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Zu dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Davis. That did some damage! Davis pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Roman Davis. I think Zu has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
