The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christ throws a nice looking combination but Spurghoff bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Christ fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Spurghoff to the ground. Christ is now in Spurghoff's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Spurghoff has his feet on Christ's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Spurghoff changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Christ tries to avoid it but Spurghoff manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Christ to the ground. Christ escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Spurghoff wants to clinch up but Christ keeps it at a distance.
Spurghoff throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Christ's head.
Spurghoff pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Christ back to the cage. Spurghoff follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Spurghoff is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Spurghoff really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rizzo swivels and escapes.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Assurio Gracie.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alverez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Son sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alverez somewhat.
Vic Alverez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alverez doesn't manage to clinch there - Son circles away.
Son shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alverez as he jumps to the side.
Son avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Son.
Alverez moves to clinch but Son breaks away

and Son counters with a shoot takedown. Alverez fights it but they end up in guard.

Alverez has his foot on Son's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Son works his way back into a safe position though.

Son drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alverez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Son has Alverez in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Alverez is posturing up here but Son has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Alverez tries to roll out but it's too tight and Alverez has to tap! Slick submission there by Son!
