The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
James shoots in but White avoids the takedown attempt easily.

White shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in James's guard.
White distracts James with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
White preventing the sweep.
White with a flurry of punches that miss.
White controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James tries to land a sweep but no joy.

James seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
White shoots in for a takedown but James shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

This one could be over very soon! James goes limp - he's gone! White jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
