21 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Swanson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Housimar Palhares! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swanson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Palhares moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Swanson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Palhares moves away. Palhares feints and as Swanson raises his hands in defense, Palhares changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Palhares trying to control the position from guard on top but Swanson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Swanson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Palhares puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Palhares is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Housimar Palhares hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Swanson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Palhares. Palhares circles away out of range and recomposes himself. A looping hook to the body misses from Swanson. Palhares does a little dance to reset his feet. Swanson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Swanson. Swanson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Palhares.
Swanson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Palhares's head backwards. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Palhares closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Swanson to the mat! Swanson manages to get full guard. Swanson keeping moving, preventing Palhares from controlling successfully. Swanson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Palhares controls the pace.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Swanson enables Palhares to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Swanson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Swanson wants to sweep here but Palhares controlling him for the moment. Swanson working for a triangle but Palhares defends it easily.

Palhares trying to control the position from guard on top but Swanson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Palhares advances position into side control! Palhares tries for a kimura but Swanson is defending well. Palhares tries to score with some ground and pound. Swanson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Swanson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Swanson is not content to let Palhares control the position. Palhares is working for a kimura but Swanson is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Let's hope that Palhares has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Housimar Palhares showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Palhares showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Joe Swanson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Housimar Palhares. Palhares moves forwards but Swanson connects with a nice, crisp jab. Palhares feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Swanson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Play slips under a jab from Alb. Alb fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Play avoids it really well and circles away. Play avoids the head kick by Alb.
Alb takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Alb with a lazy takedown attempt and Play counters with a stiff right hand. Play looks to land a combination. Alb sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Crunch! Alb slams his shin into Play's torso. Alb throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Play throws a head kick but Alb moves out of range.
Alb tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Play was well out of range. Poor timing from Alb. Alb paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Peter Alb seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Play misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alb throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Play blocks a leg kick. Alb waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Play. Play cracks the inside of Alb's front leg. Alb misses with a left hand and Play counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Alb does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Play uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Alb.
Play takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Alb wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Play blocks a low kick nicely. Alb throws a sloppy head kick and Play moves out of range easily. Alb takes a swing at Play's ribcage but misses. Play misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Alb.
Donk. Play catches Alb right on the button with a cross. Alb misses with an uppercut. Alb pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Alb walks into a stiff left hand from Play. Play swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Play throws a leg kick but Alb checks it. A big right from Play misses. Jab from Alb. Play keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Alb. Alb shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Play as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Alb. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Play connects with a crisp jab. Play throws a low kick but it's checked well by Alb. Play dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Alb. That did some damage! Alb with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Alb moves forwards but Play connects with a nice, crisp jab. Play fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alb manages to avoid it.

Alb throws a head kick that misses. Play's corner calls for a 1-2. Play obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Alb has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Play. Alb moves away from the strike by Play. Play connects with a body shot that sends Alb's belly button to the back. Play tries to land a front kick but Alb steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Play dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Alb ducks under a wild hook from Play. Play scores with a body shot.

Play connects with a right hand. Alb shakes it off. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Alb throws a head kick but Play moves out of range.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Iii fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Luongo manages to avoid it. Iii displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Luongo. Luongo shoots for a takedown but Iii saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Luongo slips a jab from Iii. Luongo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Iii as he jumps to the side. Alexander Iii has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Francesco Luongo. Iii throws out a loose jab but Luongo uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Iii lands with an uppercut that bounces Luongo off the cage and back into range. Iii looks to land a right hand but Luongo moved out of range. Alexander Iii dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Cruz uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Jab by Minard. Cruz takes a swing at Minard's ribcage but misses. Cruz defending well as Minard loads up on a big left hand. Cruz misses with a hook. Cruz throws a good cross that connects.

8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruno Barone! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barone connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Barone misses with a series of wild punches.
Benoit bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Benoit trying to control the action but Barone is working from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Barone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Barone tries to improve position but can't. Benoit is trying to get an arm triangle but Barone is defending well. Benoit wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Barone, who protects the arm well. Barone takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Benoit has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

It looks like Matthieu Benoit has been cut. Benoit takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Barone ducks under a wild hook from Benoit. Benoit shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Benoit tries to control but Barone wriggling away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barone is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
