The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crim tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Boy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Crim's waist but Crim gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Boy off to one side.
Golden Boy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boy misses with a takedown attempt - Crim sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Boy. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Crim throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Boy's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Crim dives in looking to finish as Boy flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Crim's strikes! Crim is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Boy's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Boy was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
