0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Velazquez ! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Flowers crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Velazquez - the referee stops the clock and Flowers gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Velazquez . Flowers manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Flowers looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Flowers takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Velazquez scores with a head kick. Flowers tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Hank Flowers has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Velazquez throws a nice outside leg kick. Velazquez keeps Flowers at a distance using the push kick. Velazquez moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Velazquez lands a head kick. Flowers smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Velazquez lands a big head kick that sends Flowers tumbling to the mat! Velazquez takes a step backwards and waves Flowers back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Flowers is rocked! A slapping leg kick lands for Velazquez .
Oh Flowers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Velazquez looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Velazquez backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Flowers's temple! It sends Flowers violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Velazquez celebrates and the doctors try to help Flowers!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bjorndalen throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rice bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Rice wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bjorndalen, who protects the arm well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rice goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bjorndalen rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Rice's guard! Nice work there by Bjorndalen! Rice throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rice is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Bjorndalen rolls with it to try and escape but Rice cranks on the arm and Bjorndalen is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Honeycutt throws a predictable looking body shot
and Saint Pierre counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Honeycutt throws a hook to the side of Saint Pierre's head but Saint Pierre sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Honeycutt swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Horrible takedown by Honeycutt or perhaps it was just good defense by Saint Pierre which made him look bad. Honeycutt keeps the fight on the outside. Honeycutt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Honeycutt walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Saint Pierre checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Honeycutt instigates a clinch. Honeycutt lands a right hand. Saint Pierre taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Honeycutt misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Honeycutt throws a combination that misses and Saint Pierre counters with a left and a right that stings Honeycutt. Honeycutt closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Saint Pierre's guard. Honeycutt is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Honeycutt seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Saint Pierre for as long as he can get away with. Honeycutt decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Saint Pierre, up you get! Saint Pierre swinging wildly here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Saint Pierre wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Honeycutt has him pressed against the cage. Honeycutt has Saint Pierre pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Honeycutt pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Saint Pierre tumbling to the mat - Honeycutt dives into Saint Pierre's guard. Honeycutt working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Saint Pierre wants to control the position but Honeycutt says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Honeycutt is taking a breather. Saint Pierre says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Saint Pierre must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Honeycutt manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Saint Pierre manages to get himself to full guard.

Oh snap! He's tossed Saint Pierre clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Honeycutt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Saint Pierre defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Honeycutt's arms. Honeycutt lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Saint Pierre.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Pierre with that takedown attempt. Fuller shoots for a double leg takedown but Pierre sprawls well. He's pushed Fuller's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Pierre lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Pierre shoots for a takedown but Fuller saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Fuller fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Fuller shoots in and bounces Pierre off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Fuller throwing strikes but missing. Pierre wants to sweep but no luck. Pierre avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fuller advances position into side control!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Hart enables Hendricks to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hart manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Hendricks wants to control from the top but Hart keeps moving. Hendricks makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hart working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hendricks doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hendricks manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hart is looking for a triangle but Hendricks pushes his legs off easily.

Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Hart is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Hart is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Hendricks.

James chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Loompa can pounce on him.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Loompa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. James keeping moving, preventing Loompa from controlling successfully. Loompa is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Oompa Loompa. Loompa lunges at James with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by James's hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James misses with a takedown and Loompa counters with a good low kick that James was not able to check. James tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Loompa feints and as James raises his hands in defense, Loompa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Loompa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as James works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Loompa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Loompa landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. James is looking for a sweep. Loompa working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! James is not content to let Loompa control the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Loompa working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Loompa changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. James has his takedown stuffed and James takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Loompa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Loompa connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused James some visible discomfort.
Oh James is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! This has been an exciting period of action! Loompa misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
James seems to have got his legs back now. Loompa has hold of James's arm. He's looking for a kimura. James seems comfortable defending it but Loompa has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! James is real pain and he's forced to tap out! James is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Loompa couldn't care less - he's delighted!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Borowiec takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Robertson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Borowiec under the eye. Robertson keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
