The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davies gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Clam Digger counters with a nice body shot. Clam Digger scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Davies wants to get back to his feet. Davies might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wright shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Griffin sprawls well. Griffin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wright gets slowly back to his feet. Wright on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Wright closes the distance but Griffin moves to the side and Griffin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Wright misses with a takedown and Griffin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Wright fails with a takedown attempt. Wright is trying desperately to land a takedown but Griffin is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Wright. Wright shoots and misses and Griffin counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Griffin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. A jab from Griffin does it's job there. Wright tries to score a power double leg takedown but Griffin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wright somewhat. Griffin with a nice cross. Wright has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Wright walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Griffin blocks a head kick by Wright.
A decent looking cross lands there for Griffin. Wright tries to close the distance and clinch but Griffin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Griffin connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Wright momentarily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A punch lands to the side of Wright 's head but he takes it in his stride. Wright has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Griffin finds it's way round the side to connect with Wright's head. Wright tries to clinch but Griffin moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Griffin dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Wright might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Griffin has got the better of the exchanges. Daedalus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ricard swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ricard has his foot on Daedalus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Daedalus works his way back into a safe position though. Daedalus missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Daedalus passes Ricard's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Daedalus thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Ricard wants to improve his position but Daedalus is controlling well.
