1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobby Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matt Ruy! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruy tries to close the distance and clinch but Peterson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bobby Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ruy tries to clinch but Peterson moves out of range. Peterson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ruy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Peterson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ruy to the mat! Ruy manages to get full guard. Peterson throwing strikes but missing. Ruy is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Ruy regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Peterson. Ruy is controlling Peterson's posture. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ruy can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Peterson throwing strikes but missing. That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Peterson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ruy, into his guard. Ruy is pulling down on Peterson's head to control his posture. Ruy working for submissions but it's allowed Peterson to get to half guard.
Peterson is pressing down on Ruy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ruy is holding on for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peterson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Ruy regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Peterson. Peterson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ruy manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Peterson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ruy was covering up waiting for the punch and Peterson finishes the takedown easily into guard. Ruy throws a right hand that Peterson ducks under and follows up with a left that Peterson also avoids with ease. Peterson fails with the takedown and Ruy moves into the clinch. Peterson is trying to maintain a safe position but Ruy gets an underhook and turns Peterson into the cage. Peterson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ruy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ruy gets a trip takedown into half guard. Ruy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Peterson is just riding it out for now. Ruy eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ruy tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Peterson wants to get back to full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! They are putting on a show! Ruy keeps the fight on the outside.

Peterson wants to take the fight to the mat but Ruy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Peterson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ruy prevents the takedown attempt.
Ruy changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Peterson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ruy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ruy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ruy uses from the top position. Ruy stands and steps away. Peterson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Holmes lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Holmes scores with a takedown into Hinrichts's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Holmes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

I think Darby might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Real American. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Patrick. Octopus does a little dance to reset his feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Octopus looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Patrick ducks under a wild hook from Octopus. Octopus moves in looking to clinch but Patrick pushes him off. Doctor Octopus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Octopus wants to clinch. Octopus tries to clinch up. Octopus tries to clinch but Patrick is having none of it. A telegraphed right hand from Patrick misses the target. Octopus moves to clinch but Patrick breaks away and Patrick counters with a nice double leg into side control. Octopus won't be happy with that. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Robert Kingsley's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Jackson lets loose with a powerful body kick. Kingsley will feel that in the morning. Kingsley is still on wobbly legs! Can Jackson finish him? Jackson feints a jab and as Kingsley dips his head, Jackson unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Kingsley right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Kingsley falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Jackson smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Frazier feints a jab promting O Donnell to slip. Frazier then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. O Donnell slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Frazier lands a straight punch to the body, keeping O Donnell at a distance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. O Donnell keeping moving, preventing Frazier from controlling successfully. Tyrone Frazier has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! O Donnell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if O Donnell tries to get out of the position. Frazier throws a big right hand that misses. Frazier seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frazier sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed O Donnell's guard. Frazier is stalling here. O Donnell is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Frazier seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and O Donnell has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. O Donnell wants to stand but Frazier has his arm trapped. Frazier is trying to get back to half guard. Frazier regains half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. O Donnell seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Frazier tries to roll over but O Donnell keeps him under control. Frazier trying to hold on to O Donnell's head to control him but O Donnell postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. O Donnell wants to stand up but Frazier is controlling the position.
