The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Teixeira shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gomez but Gomez pushes him off and we're back to square one. Teixeira manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gomez on his heels. He'll look to pass Gomez's guard now, I'm sure. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Teixeira scoring with some ground and pound. Gomez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Teixeira doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Gomez is tightening it up a little... Teixeira has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Teixeira reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Teixeira taps out! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goncalves keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Goncalves shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dos Santos napping and manages to drive through into side control! Goncalves decides to stand back up. Goncalves steps back and let's Dos Santos get back to his feet. Goncalves throws a push kick but Dos Santos slaps the foot to one side. Goncalves throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dos Santos tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Goncalves is in Dos Santos's guard. Goncalves trying to control the position from guard on top but Dos Santos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Goncalves looking to pass the guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Ape swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cruz is now in Ape's guard. A big mistake from Ape there, giving up the dominant position! Cruz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kemeameahu scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
