The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stradlin connects with a nice short shot to Rizzo's temple.
Stradlin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Silver misses with a takedown attempt

and Smith counters with a crisp one two that drops Silver! Smith thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Silver to his feet! Silver is in big trouble!

Silver is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith finds Silver's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Silver flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Smith lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Silver will be OK.

Sparrow tries to close the distance and clinch but Mullins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dan Gaffney will probably get the nod.

Gaffney throws a lazy right hand but Rua sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Rua misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gaffney fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rua.
Rua shoots in but Gaffney avoids the takedown attempt easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well Gaffney has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
