And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uusisto cracks Velmu with an open hand slap.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Uusisto lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Velmu has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Velmu and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Velmu connects with a nice short shot to Uusisto's temple.

Velmu moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Uusisto missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Velmu is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Velmu manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Uusisto tries to reverse the position but Velmu maintains control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Uusisto takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Uusisto tries to lock up and control but Velmu gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Velmu working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Uusisto turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Velmu off and cradles Uusisto's limp body as Velmu celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Jyrska Velmu!

Jyrska Velmu decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
