Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Francis Fernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krayzie Bone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bone has chosen Thuggish Ruggish Bone as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Krayzie Bone told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fernandez misses the shot to the body. Fernandez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Fernandez tries to clinch and Bone counters with a nice uppercut. Fernandez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bone swats him away and circles back towards the center. Francis Fernandez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fernandez moves to clinch but Bone breaks away and Bone counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Fernandez just misses with a punch to the body.
Fernandez has a takedown stuffed. Fernandez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bone counters with a crisp right hand that drops Fernandez! Bone lets Fernandez back up to his feet, looking for a finish! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fernandez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fernandez lands in his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fernandez trying to control but Bone is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bone avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bone holds on and takes a little breather. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bone can do anything to dispel that myth. Fernandez trying to control the position from guard on top but Bone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We're going to have a standup here because Francis Fernandez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Fernandez has a takedown stuffed. Fernandez tries to clinch up and Bone counters with a two punch combo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fernandez tries for a takedown but Bone circles away easily and Bone counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francis Fernandez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fernandez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bone to score with a decent uppercut.

Bone stays in close to Fernandez's body and controls the position. Bone stands up from Fernandez's guard - Bone perhaps looking for a knockout. Fernandez looks for a takedown but Bone sprawls well. Bone scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Fernandez seems to have got his legs back now. Fernandez is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bone is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Fernandez like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Fernandez from another fist facial!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Desantis with that takedown attempt. Thompson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Thompson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Desantis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thompson somewhat. Desantis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thompson as he jumps to the side. Thompson shoots in looking for a takedown. Desantis tries to sprawl out of it but Thompson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Desantis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Tj Desantis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Thompson. Thompson scores a takedown into full mount! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Desantis is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

and Jones counters with a big head kick but Cook shrugs it off. Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Jones landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones trying to control but Cook is working from the bottom. Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Cook keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass. Jones stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch!
