 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Palhares is looking to land body kicks. Palhares avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A head kick misses from Candy. Candy wants to clinch. Candy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Candy is looking to clinch but Palhares is avoiding it.
Palhares takes one on the chin but seems OK.
 It looks like Rousimar Palhares has been cut. Candy tries a head kick but it misses.
Palhares takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Candy wants to stand but Palhares is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Palhares is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Candy wants to stand but Palhares is controlling the position. Candy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Palhares trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Candy wants to stand and escape but Palhares is having none of it. Candy looks gassed!
Palhares stands up and waves to Candy to follow him. Candy feints a jab promting Palhares to slip. Candy then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Palhares slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Palhares pushes Candy up against the cage in a clinch.
Palhares ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Palhares no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Palhares keeping moving, preventing Candy from controlling successfully. Palhares pulls Candy in close to his closed guard and prevents Candy from doing any damage or advancing position.
 The ref stands the fighters back up. Rousimar Palhares wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Palhares bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Candy is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Palhares asserts his dominance and retains side control.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lai explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Lai moves into range and clinches up with Pontes. Lai comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
 It looks like Fernando Pontes has been cut. Lai goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Lai lands with a light punch inside. Pontes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lai just stands there and leans against the cage. Lai lands an elbow inside. Lai makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Lai throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Pontess head. A hook to the body from Lai.

Belfort has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Papadopoulos uses from the top position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Belfort is on top in guard.

 The ref stands the fighters back up. Vitor Belfort was stalling too much, according to the referee. Belfort connects with a jab. Belfort stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Belfort wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ghiorghos Papadopoulos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Belfort misses with a wild combination.
Belfort lands with a nice combination. Papadopoulos backs away looking to recover. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Papadopoulos checks a leg kick. Belfort misses with a jab, cross combination.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Belfort's jab looks to have found its range, popping Papadopoulos under the eye. Papadopoulos stuffs the takedown. A combination from Belfort does no damage. Belfort moves in looking to clinch but Papadopoulos pushes him off. Papadopoulos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Belfort as he avoids it easily. Papadopoulos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Belfort avoids it really well and circles away. Papadopoulos shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Belfort defends it nicely. Belfort misses with a low kick.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Left hook, right uppercut from Belfort. Papadopoulos avoids a punch combination nicely.
Belfort throws a series of punches but Papadopoulos moves out of range. No luck for Papadopoulos with that takedown attempt. Papadopoulos takes a jab right on the kisser.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Papadopoulos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jab from Belfort. Belfort misses with a head kick.

Left hook, right uppercut from Belfort. Ghiorghos Papadopoulos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Belfort scores with a one two! Papadopoulos had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. No joy there for Belfort, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Papadopoulos takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Belfort is looking to clinch but Papadopoulos is avoiding it.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Belfort. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Belfort can't do much from the bottom here. Belfort on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Papadopoulos lands some shots froms side control. Belfort is breathing heavily. Papadopoulos scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Belfort is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Papadopoulos can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Ghost swings wildly with an uppercut but Quela uses good head movement to avoid it. Quela comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Ghost's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Ghost breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ghost throws a lazy uppercut
and Quela makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Ghost really felt that one! Quela circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Ghost drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Quela follows Ghost to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Maia shoots in looking for a takedown but Aguero manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Maia's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Maia shoots for a takedown but Aguero saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Aguero throws a head kick that misses. Aguero throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maia. Sergio Aguero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Jab by Aguero. Aguero throws a leg kick which misses Maia's front leg but catches the back leg as Maia tries to avoid it. A solid leg kick lands there for Aguero.

He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Emilianko! This has been an exciting period of action!  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Partridge throws a body punch but Tsushima moves out of range. Partridge connects with a right hand. Tsushima shakes it off. Partridge lands a slapping body shot.

Tsushima rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Partridge moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Tsushima throws a solid leg kick but Partridge takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Tsushima. Horrible takedown by Tsushima or perhaps it was just good defense by Partridge which made him look bad. Partridge lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Tsushima moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
 It looks like Lewis Tsushima has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tsushima looks for a takedown but Partridge sprawls well. Steve Partridge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lewis Tsushima. Partridge scores with a jab to the jaw. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Partridge stuns Tsushima with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Tsushima shoots for a takedown but Partridge saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Tsushima avoids the body shot from Partridge.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Masilungan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tota Lidel! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lidel on the side of the head. Lidel misses with a kick to the body.
Pete Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones scores with a jab to the head.
Lidel scores with a nice head shot. Jones misses with a body shot.

 It looks like Tota Lidel has been cut. Lidel throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily. A big left from Lidel misses. Lidel on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A big right from Jones misses. Lidel moves into range and connects with a jab. Jones misses the shot to the body. Jones takes a swing at Lidel's ribcage but misses. Jones on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lidel. Lidel obviously looking to wear him down.

Lidel is looking to score with low kicks. The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nice uppercut there from Lidel.  That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Lidel throws a half hearted mid kick. Jones throws a hook but Lidel avoids it easily. Jones misses the shot to the body. Jones misses with a hook. Lidel ducked under it nicely. A big right from Jones misses. A leg kick checked by Jones. Lidel throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Lidel scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jones in his tracks. Lidel scoring well with a low kick there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones misses the jab. Jones is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Lidel pulls out of a head kick attempt.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones thuds his right hand into Lidel's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Jones punishes Lidel's body with a nice straight punch. Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lidel manages to avoid it. Jones just misses with a punch to the body.
A jab from Jones misses. Jones misses with a straight left. Jones throws the left hand but Lidel avoids the punch easily. Jones with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lidel to score with a decent uppercut. Lidel throws a nice outside leg kick. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jones pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Jones thows a body shot but no joy. Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Tota Lidel dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tota Lidel's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jones loads up on a big right hand but Lidel slips the punch. Lidel cracks Jones with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Lidel moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Lidel takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Jones swings and misses with a hook to the body.

This has been an exciting period of action! Lidel feints and then cracks Jones's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jones down. Lidel getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Lidel connects with an inside leg kick. Lidel is looking to slow Jones down with leg kicks. Lidel fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jones. Lidel connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A decent looking cross lands there for Lidel. Lidel turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Jones takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Tota Lidel seems to be getting the better of the standup. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jones has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lidel. Lidel connects with a right hand. Jones shakes it off.
A head kick lands from Lidel that sends Jones to the canvas. Jones tries to scramble back to his feet but Lidel brings him back down into side control.
 Jones is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lidel creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jones sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Lidel is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jones takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Lidel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Lidel trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom. The ground and pound from Lidel seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Lidel happy to just control the position for now. Jones takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is not content to let Lidel control the position. Jones is looking to regain half guard here but Lidel keeps moving and retains side control. Jones struggling a bit here.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jones managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lidel.
The ground and pound from Lidel seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Lidel is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Tota Lidel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Tota Lidel's cut. That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Jones lands with a nice combination. Lidel backs away looking to recover. Jones drops his hands momentarily and Lidel takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Lidel connects with an inside leg kick. Jones checks a leg kick nicely. Lidel throws a leg kick which misses Jones's front leg but catches the back leg as Jones tries to avoid it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lidel can pounce on him.
Lidel tried to score with a low kick but Jones checks it. Lidel lands with a thumping leg kick.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Lidel lands a nice looking body kick. Lidel moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Lidel scores with a kick to the midsection. Lidel fakes the leg kick and cracks Jones in the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lidel thows a body kick. Jones tries to catch it but that hurt him. Lidel throws a head kick that half lands.
 It looks like Pete Jones has been cut. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Lidel. Jones shrugs it off though. Jones stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lidel. Jones tries to move into range but Lidel moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Lidel fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jones. That kick from Lidel tenderised Jones's leg. Jones is trying to keep his angry face on. Lidel keeps Jones at a distance using the push kick.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Lidel moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off. Lidel throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Lidel lands an overhand right. Jones misses with an uppercut
and Lidel makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Lidel drops Jones with a big left hand! Jones is injured, injured bad! Lidel jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
