The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salek moves to clinch but Ridgeon breaks away

and Ridgeon counters by clinching up.
Ridgeon is looking to take this one to the mat.
Ridgeon managing to block the knees to the body from Salek.
Salek misses with an elbow over the top.
The referee is keeping an eye on Ridgeon - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Ridgeon drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Salek gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Ridgeon gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Salek keeping moving, preventing Ridgeon from controlling successfully.

Ridgeon throws a big elbow that misses.
Ridgeon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Ridgeon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ridgeon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ridgeon makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Ridgeon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Ridgeon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Salek can't keep his opponent in guard - Ridgeon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Above throws a right and a left that both miss.
Loompa misses with a leg kick.
Above connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Loompa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Above pinned against the cage. Above gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Loompa closes the distance but Above moves to the side
and Above counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Above throws a right and a left that Loompa avoids nicely.

Above keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Above counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Death Above has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of OOmpa Loompa.

Loompa takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Above has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Loompa doesn't defend quickly enough and Above has managed to lock this one up! Can Loompa escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Above on a fantastic submission victory.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mr Funktastic will probably get the nod.

Funktastic feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
