The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tommy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tommy showed some decent athleticism there. Athletar looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Tommy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Athletar's head. Tommy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Tommy is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Tommy wants to work for an arm triangle but Athletar is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tommy missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Tommy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Athletar defends it well. Tommy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Athletar sees it coming and defends easily. Tommy seems to be looking for submissions.
Athletar tries to roll over but Tommy keeps him under control. Athletar has his hands clasped together around Tommy 's back. He's all about the action. Tommy trying to control from half guard but Athletar is working away.

Athletar tries to close the distance and clinch but Tommy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tommy tries to bum rush Athletar with a series of wild strikes but Athletar uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Tommy pushes Athletar up against the cage in a clinch. Tommy tries to break the clinch but Athletar is controlling the position. Tommy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Athletar shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tommy napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Athletar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tommy on the ground. Athletar postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alfonso closes the distance looking to clinch and Stinson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Nice defenses there by Alfonso. Horrible takedown by Alfonso or perhaps it was just good defense by Stinson which made him look bad. Alfonso tries to close the distance and clinch but Stinson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Alfonso wants to clinch. Alfonso tries to clinch and Stinson counters with a one-two to the body. Alfonso tries to clinch but Stinson is having none of it. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Stinson! Alfonso is out on his feet! Stinson rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Alfonso is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Alfonso is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

This has been an exciting period of action! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Evraerts wants to stand and escape but instead Jaki has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Evraerts is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jaki is controlling him. Jaki cracks Evraerts with a solid left hand. Jaki stops Evraerts from standing up. Evraerts looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jaki is one step ahead there. Jaki postures up and lands a big shot to Evraerts's brow. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Jaki fails with a takedown attempt. Evraerts waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Jaki. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Jaki to the canvas! Jaki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Evraerts gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jaki looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Evraerts throws a strike but Jaki rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Jaki passes Evraerts's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bonney tries to clinch up but Kunnas circles away and keeps his distance. Bonney closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kunnas's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kunnas can do anything to dispel that myth. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Kunnas has his hands on Bonney's head, controlling the position. Bonney tries to free his leg and advance position but Kunnas is retaining full guard. Bonney trying to control but Kunnas is working from the bottom. Bonney wants to pass the guard but Kunnas is keeping the position. Kunnas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bonney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bonney is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kunnas is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kunnas has escaped and now he's on top! Kunnas trying to control the position from guard on top but Bonney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kunnas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bonney pulls Kunnas in to control the position. Kunnas trying to control the position from guard on top but Bonney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Karl Kunnas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Kunnas throws a big shot that misses. Kunnas throws a right hand that Bonney ducks under and follows up with a left that Bonney also avoids with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bonney fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kunnas avoids it really well and circles away. Bonney tries for a takedown but Kunnas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bonney fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Bonney. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice shot by Kunnas. Bonney misses with a two punch combination.

The fight stays on the outside here - Bonney looks like he's thinking about clinching though. William Bonney seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kunnas looks to land a left hand but Bonney moved out of range nicely. Kunnas checks a low kick from Bonney. Kunnas misses with a few strikes there.
Bonney uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kunnas. Kunnas connects with a crisp jab. Bonney fails in his attempt to clinch. Kunnas comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Jab, jab by Kunnas - just one landing. Kunnas displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bonney.

Kunnas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bonney. Bonney is breathing heavily. Kunnas with a body punch. A glancing blow. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kunnas tests Bonney's chin there with a solid looking shot. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bonney walks into a stiff left hand from Kunnas. Kunnas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. It looks like William Bonney has been cut. Bonney takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Oh Bonney is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Kunnas throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kunnas bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bonney's head. Bonney has a takedown stuffed. Kunnas might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Bonney shoots in but Kunnas avoids the takedown attempt easily. Karl Kunnas seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kunnas drops Bonney with a huge uppercut! Bonney drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Kunnas is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Man fails to land with a series of punches.
Surtr throws a leg kick which misses Man's front leg but catches the back leg as Man tries to avoid it. Surtr swats away the attempt to clinch by Man. Surtr swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Man moves away from the strike by Surtr. Man throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A looping hook to the body misses from Man. Surtr does a little dance to reset his feet. A head kick from Surtr lands but Man takes it in his stride. Surtr pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Man swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Argo Surtr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Surtr connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Surtr misses with an attempted mid kick.
Surtr throws a low kick but Man avoids it. A jab from Surtr does it's job there. This has been an exciting period of action! Surtr moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Man on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Argo Surtr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Man takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Man looks gassed! Surtr jabs at Man's body. Man seems to have recovered his senses. Man works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Surtr cracks Man's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Man slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Surtr can do further damage! This one is done, son!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Argo Surtr! After the fight, Argo Surtr was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Cable tried to score with a low kick but Witt checks it. Cable keeps the fight on the outside. Cable swats away the attempt to clinch by Witt. Cable throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Witt was covering up waiting for the punch and Cable finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Witt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cable is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cable throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Witt works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Witt tries to land a sweep but no joy. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Witt throws a strike but Cable rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
