Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stephen Geisbert! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Damien Duval! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duval moves into range and connects with a jab.
Duval clinches up against the cage. Geisbert tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Duval just stands there and leans against the cage. Geisbert misses with the head strike.
Geisbert lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Duval blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Duval breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Geisbert throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Duval was covering up waiting for the punch and Geisbert finishes the takedown easily into guard. And that's the end of the fight! Damien Duval comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Duval has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Blackwell's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Blackwell was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
