A jab from Wyatt misses. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Wyatt checks a leg kick. Wyatt takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Wyatt looks to land a combination but Takka avoids it well. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Takka - that will leave a mark!
Takka throws a wild body kick that Wyatt sees coming a mile off. Wyatt cracks Takka with an open hand slap. Takka on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Takka takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Takka misses with a head kick.
A decent looking cross lands there for Takka . Wyatt doesn't succeed with the takedown and Takka counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Takka throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Takka stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Takka smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Takka 's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Takka duly obliges. Wyatt just misses with a punch to the body.
Wyatt misses with a straight left. Takka is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Takka misses with a kick to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Takka pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Wyatt lands with an uppercut that bounces Takka off the cage and back into range. Takka stuffs the takedown attempt from Wyatt. Wyatt gets slowly back to his feet. Timo Takka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jarrod Wyatt. Takka tries for a takedown but Wyatt circles away easily and Wyatt counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Takka ! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Takka tries to hold on but Wyatt postures up. Wyatt cracks Takka with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wyatt pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Wyatt lands with some strikes. Takka is in a horrible position here. Wyatt smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Takka is working hard here to advance position. Takka tries to lock up and control but Wyatt gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Takka is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wyatt is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Wyatt tries to control but Takka wriggling away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Wyatt lands a big shot there that rocks Takka but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Crack! Jokinen content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Pyle has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We're going to have a standup here because Olli Jokinen wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Pyle scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Jokinen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pyle to score an easy takedown into full guard. Pyle throws an elbow that misses. Jokinen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pyle's guard. Nice move by Jokinen! Jokinen wants to pass the guard but Pyle is keeping the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scott pulls Joensen in close to prevent any damage.
