The bell rings for round one and we are underway! ed misses with a double jab
and Hammonds counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. ed trying to control here.
ed wants to improve his position but Hammonds is controlling well.
ed slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. ed looking for a sweep. Not yet ed, not yet. ed bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hammonds's guard. Hammonds is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and ed defends well. ed throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. ed stays in close to Hammonds's body and controls the position. Hammonds keeping moving, preventing ed from controlling successfully. ed with a nice head shot there. Hammonds working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. ed doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. ed manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. ed might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. ed is working Hammonds over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. ed wants to control from the top but Hammonds keeps moving. Hammonds looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Hammonds looks gassed! ed with a flurry of punches that miss. ed landing some decent shots from guard. ed scoring with some ground and pound. ed is pushing down on Hammonds's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hammonds is fighting to maintain full guard but ed has managed to sneak the leg through. ed looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hammonds with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. ed working Hammonds over with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. ed working over Hammonds with some ground and pound. Hammonds looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. This has been an exciting period of action! ed trying to control the action but Hammonds is working from the bottom. ed scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. ed missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. ed is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hammonds! ed raining down hammerfists from mount. ed lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hammonds hang on? The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! ed putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! BOOM! ed connects with a massive shot to the dome!

It looks like Jay Hammonds has been cut. Hammonds has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by ed after a bit of a struggle. Hammonds is looking for a takedown up against the cage. ed gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. ed lands an elbow inside. ed looks to throw an elbow but misses. A nice glancing elbow lands by Hammonds. ed creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hammonds's defenses. ed lands an elbow inside. ed is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hammonds pulls him back up using the underhooks. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! ed gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Nice elbow from ed. ed jumps guard and drags Hammonds to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Hammonds being controlled here momentarily. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. ed is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Paul ed. ed forces Hammonds back against the cage and clinches. ed lands a damaging elbow. ed has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hammonds uses from the top position.

It looks like Gomi Bakanori has been cut. Handfast throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Bakanori lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Bakanori fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Bakanori cracks a nice hook into Handfast's ribs. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nice cross by Bakanori. Bakanori scores with a body shot.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bakanori, as that shot connected.

Bakanori has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Handfast. Bakanori lands with an uppercut that bounces Handfast off the cage and back into range.
Handfast is rocked! Bakanori misses with a left hand and Handfast counters with a nice kick to the body. Oh Handfast is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Bakanori takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Bakanori takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Bakanori circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Handfast to the canvas! Handfast doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Bakanori keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Handfast pushes down on Stillao's head and hops out. Handfast clinches. Handfast working Stillao over with knees to the body. Stillao is trying to pull guard but Handfast turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Stillao takes a knee to the side of the body. Stillao fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Isaac Handfast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Stillao. Stillao is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Handfast is keeping busy. Handfast tries to work over Stillao's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Handfast stalls. Handfast unloads a knee to the mid-section. Handfast pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Handfast will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Handfast jerks Stillao's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Stillao drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Handfast goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Handfast because Stillao was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

Hook has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Geerts is looking to sweep but instead, Hook has passed into half guard.
Geerts on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Geerts tries to get out of the position. Still in half guard, Hook seems content to control. Hook is looking to advance position but Geerts won't allow it. Hook lands strikes from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hook seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Geerts does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Geerts manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

It looks like Hazuka Oyama has been cut. A punch lands to the side of Oyama 's head but he takes it in his stride. The crowd cheers as Oyama lands an impressive looking overhand right. Murphy doesn't seem phased though. This has been an exciting period of action! Murphy slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Oyama ducks under a wild hook from Murphy. Oyama lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Murphy at a distance.
Murphy misses with a straight right. Murphy lands with a hook. Oyama tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Murphy dips to his left and cracks Oyama with an uppercut! Oyama jabs Murphy to the body, keeping him at a distance. Murphy misses with a few strikes there.
Murphy moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Murphy lands a nice leg kick that just misses Oyama's sensitive parts. Murphy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Murphy tests Oyama's chin there with a solid looking shot. Sloppy strikes from Oyama. Those never looked like landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murphy fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Murphy fakes the leg kick and cracks Oyama in the body. Murphy with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Oyama tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Oyama is breathing heavily. Murphy lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Oyama slips a jab and a cross from Murphy.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Natura stalks Pak and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pak's face. Pak staggers backwards, shaken. Pak bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Ernest Natura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Natura misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Natura thows a left - swing and a miss! Natura moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. A slapping leg kick lands for Pak.
Pak looking to score a takedown here. Natura is defending well but Pak drives through and ends up in Natura's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Pak forces his way into half guard. Pak keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. This has been an exciting period of action! Pak wants to pass the guard but Natura is defending well. Pak controlling the action here. Natura tries to kick Pak off but Pak keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dae Jung Pak was stalling too much, according to the referee. Natura feints a jab promting Pak to slip. Natura then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Pak slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Pak steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Natura. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Natura lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Natura misses with a few strikes there.
Natura will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pak throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Natura stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Pak uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Natura. Natura swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Natura is rocked! A head kick by Pak - that's a beauty! Natura is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Pak can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
