The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Blaze is fending him off so far but Mendes persists. Nope, Blaze circles away and we're back to standing.
Mendes shoots in for a takedown but Blaze shows good takedown defense.

Mendes drives through and clinches with Blaze against the cage.
Mendes is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Mendes jumps guard and drags Blaze to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Mendes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blaze gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gunter fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Andrews looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Andrews fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gunter manages to avoid it.

and Andrews moves into the clinch.

Hernandez can't keep his opponent in guard - James advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
James works his foot free and advances to mount.

Speed is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Goldberg screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
