The bell rings for round one and we are underway! MaClough misses with a hook. MaClough pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Mitchel throws a nice looking combination but MaClough bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. MaClough fails in his attempt to clinch. MaClough tries to clinch up. No joy there for Mitchel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Tyson Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz takes a shot right to the bread basket. A combination from Diaz does no damage. Kent rushes Diaz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kent breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kent wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Diaz looks gassed! Kent changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Lombard keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. High looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lombard with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hector Lombard's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lord misses with an uppercut. Riley Free seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lord thows a body shot but no joy. Free fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lord on the side of the head. Lord shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Lord bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Free defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lord. Free uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lord. Free waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lord. Free getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Lord tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Free was well out of range. Poor timing from Lord. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kendall Alves! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jik Chuyhn Jyu! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jyu throws out a loose jab but Alves uses good head movement to avoid it. Alves dives in and grabs Jyu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jyu pushes down on Alves's head and hops out. Jyu moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Alves gets a double leg takedown into Jyu's guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Jyu avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Alves wants to control from the top but Jyu keeps moving. Alves throws a big right hand that misses. Alves stays in close to Jyu's body and controls the position. Jyu keeping full guard, as Alves tries to pass. Alves wants to control from the top but Jyu keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kendall Alves. Jyu takes one on the button. Alves dives in and grabs Jyu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jyu pushes down on Alves's head and hops out. Jyu finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Alves gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jyu. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jyu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Alves throws a shot to the body.
Alves misses with a looping right. Jyu connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Jik Chuyhn Jyu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jyu fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Alves is out of range. Jyu connects with a looping right hand.

Alves jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jyu walks away with a smile on his face. Alves gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Alves with a nice cross. Alves misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jyu.
Jyu thows a leg kick but Alves checks it enabling Alves to counter with a crisp jab. Alves shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jyu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Alves has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Alves throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Alves shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Alves in particular looking to stall. Jyu has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alves is working away from the top position though. Alves trying to control from half guard but Jyu is working away.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A clash of legs there as Karlsson blocks the low kick. Karlsson blocks the body kick.
Karlsson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lodin. Lodin ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Lodin misses with a straight left. Lodin wants to land a leg kick but Karlsson is out of range. Frank Lodin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Karlsson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Karlsson shoots in but Lodin avoids the takedown attempt easily. Lodin is looking to slow Karlsson down with leg kicks. Lodin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Karlsson. The crowd cheers as Lodin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Karlsson doesn't seem phased though.
It looks like Jimmy Karlsson has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Karlsson lands with an uppercut that bounces Lodin off the cage and back into range. Good work by Karlsson as he checks the leg kick. Karlsson misses with a wild body shot. Lodin lands a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lodin lands a glancing blow to the side of Karlsson's head. Lodin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Karlsson. Karlsson checks a low kick from Lodin. Karlsson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Karlsson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Karlsson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lodin throws a big shot that misses. Lodin lands a slapping body shot.
Good work by Karlsson as he checks the leg kick. Lodin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Karlsson in his tracks. Lodin connects with a looping right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Karlsson throws a sloppy body shot
and Lodin counters with a nice body shot. Lodin pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karlsson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lodin moves away. A jab from Karlsson misses. Lodin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lodin thows a left - swing and a miss! Karlsson misses with a takedown attempt and Lodin counters with a slapping leg kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Karlsson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lodin cracks a nice hook into Karlsson's ribs. Karlsson is looking to wear down Lodin with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Karlsson on the wrong end of a nice hook. Lodin connects with the punch. A solid body kick from Lodin. Karlsson is breathing heavily. Lodin lands a really nice looking cross but Karlsson seems unphased.
Karlsson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Karlsson is rocked! Lodin moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Karlsson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lodin to score with a decent uppercut. Oh Karlsson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Karlsson drops his hands momentarily. Lodin doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Karlsson staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Karlsson doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
