2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenji Rodriguez! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rodriguez throws a leg kick and Jones counters with a lovely straight right hand! Jones throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Rodriguez loads up on a big right hand but Jones slips the punch. Nice cross by Jones. Rodriguez tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it. Jones throws a nice looking combination but Rodriguez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jones has taken the fight to the clinch.
Rodriguez comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Jones blocks an elbow strike from Rodriguez.
Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rodriguez attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Jones tries to bum rush Rodriguez with a series of wild strikes but Rodriguez uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Rodriguez. Rodriguez misses with a low kick. Jones moves into the clinch successfully.
Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Rodriguez moves out of range easily. Rodriguez throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Rodriguez shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodriguez throws a low kick, looking for Jones's leg but Jones calmly moves out of range. Rodriguez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rodriguez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jones. Kenji Rodriguez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones blocks a low kick nicely. A big right from Rodriguez misses. Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Rodriguez attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rodriguez swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jones checks the leg kick nicely there.
Jones rushes Rodriguez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A decent looking cross lands there for Jones. A low kick from Rodriguez misses and Jones counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Rodriguez is lucky that one didn't land flush. Rodriguez avoids a kick to the body.
Jones ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Jones lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Rodriguez swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones. Jones looks to land a right hand but Rodriguez moved out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rodriguez finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Rodriguez avoids the head kick by Jones.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rodriguez throws a leg kick and Jones counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rodriguez thinking. Rodriguez looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Jones fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jones punishes Rodriguez's body with a nice straight punch. Some wild striking there from Jones.
Jones blocks a head kick by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez throws a body kick that misses. Rodriguez looks to land a right hand but Jones moved out of range. Jones works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. A leg kick checked by Jones. Rodriguez misses with a leg kick and Jones counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Rodriguez is lucky that one didn't land flush. Jones tries to clinch there but Rodriguez circles away.

and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jones cracks Rodriguez with a good jab.

Rodriguez keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Rodriguez misses with a knee strike.
Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rodriguez tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it. Jones moves into the clinch. Jones has hold of one of Rodriguez's legs. Rodriguez is fighting the takedown attempt but Jones gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Rodriguez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones is looking to stand up but Rodriguez won't let him. Rodriguez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rodriguez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Rodriguez's legs - danger averted. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Rodriguez is retaining full guard. Rodriguez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily. Rodriguez is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Jones has his hands clasped together but Rodriguez extends an breaks Jones's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Rodriguez.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dowiyogo fails in his attempt to clinch. Velasquez gets in close and instigates a clinch. Dowiyogo trying to land knees to the body.
Velasquez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dowiyogo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Dowiyogo landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Dowiyogo using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Velasquez has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Velasquez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Dowiyogo connects with a nasty looking knee right to Velasquez's face.
It looks like Cain Velasquez has been cut. Velasquez is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Dowiyogo is defending well. Grover Dowiyogo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Velasquez. Velasquez managing to block the knees to the body from Dowiyogo.

This has been an exciting period of action! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Grover Dowiyogo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dowiyogo darts in trying to clinch and Velasquez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dowiyogo's guard now. Velasquez throwing strikes but missing. Velasquez is working Dowiyogo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Dowiyogo wants to stand but Velasquez is controlling the position. Velasquez throws an elbow that misses. Dowiyogo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Velasquez's guard. Nice move by Dowiyogo! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Velasquez holds on and takes a little breather. Velasquez looking for a guillotine here but Dowiyogo defends easily.

Velasquez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dowiyogo is controlling him. Velasquez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Dowiyogo wants to stand but Velasquez is controlling his posture from full guard. Velasquez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Velasquez can do anything to dispel that myth. Dowiyogo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Dowiyogo has hold of Velasquez's hands but Velasquez slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Dowiyogo tries to roll over but Velasquez keeps him under control. Velasquez lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Velasquez chips away with some ground and pound. Velasquez prevents Dowiyogo from getting back to his feet. Velasquez is looking to work some ground and pound but Dowiyogo has wrist control. Velasquez keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dowiyogo's head. Velasquez lands a couple of digs. Velasquez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Velasquez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Dowiyogo pushes Velasquez off and gets back to his feet.

Velasquez lands with a punch from half guard. Velasquez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dowiyogo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Dowiyogo wants to get back to his feet.

Cain Velasquez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Velasquez is figuring out what he wants to do next.

It looks like Zhang Wufie has been cut. Shield scores with a decent looking hook. Shield walks forward, straight into a front kick from Wufie. Wufie throws a sloppy head kick and Shield moves out of range easily. Wufie lands a head kick. Shield smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Shield circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shield throws a low kick but it's checked well by Wufie. Shield throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Shield on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Wufie. Wufie obviously looking to wear him down.
Shield cracks Wufie with an open hand slap. Shield ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wufie moves away. Wufie takes a body punch but keeps moving. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shield looks to land a combination but Wufie avoids it well. Shield swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Wufie.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Wufie checks a leg kick. Wufie checks the leg kick. Wufie throws a leg kick but Shield moved away. Shield throws a big shot that misses. Shield throws a shot from downtown. Wufie moves away and avoids it. Shield throws a body punch but Wufie moves out of range. Shield misses with a leg kick and Wufie counters with a good, hard body kick but Shield shrugs it off. Shield connects with a single shot there. Shield looks to land a combination but Wufie avoids it well. Wufie tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Stotch crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Lynn punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Requina feints and then cracks Natsuki's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Natsuki down. A thudding body kick lands there by Requina!
This has been an exciting period of action! Requina tests Natsuki's chin there with a solid looking shot. Requina pounces like a tiger and cracks Natsuki with a vicious hook! Natsuki is down but not out! Requina follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
