The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ground Fighter gets caught flat footed, as Kid shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Ground Fighter is breathing heavily. Kid looking to pass the guard. Kid trying to control the position from guard on top but Ground Fighter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kid postures up in Ground Fighter's guard and throws a big left but Ground Fighter blocks it. OK we're going to have a standup here. KO Kid hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Kid shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kid showed some decent athleticism there.

KO Kid has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Kid fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Kid looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ground Fighter! Ground Fighter is squirming around, avoiding Kid's attempts to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kid might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ground Fighter kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter throws a sloppy head kick and Adams counters with a three punch combo that has Hunter backing up. Hunter nods at Adams to acknowledge the strikes. Hunter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hunter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hunter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Hunter working the ground and pound effectively.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Adams tries to lock up and control but Hunter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Hunter postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Adams looks a forlorn figure.
