The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens throws a lazy uppercut
and Matsumoto counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Matsumoto lands a jab-cross combination.
Horrible takedown by Stevens or perhaps it was just good defense by Matsumoto which made him look bad.
Stevens gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Matsumoto counters with a thumping low kick.
Stevens misses with a takedown attempt
and Matsumoto counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hitoshi Matsumoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Stevens.

Stevens closes the distance but Matsumoto moves to the side

Atkins has closed the distance and engaged Mac in a clinch.
Mac is struggling to control the position.

Mac's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Atkins cracks Mac with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Mac throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Atkins misses with a jab, cross combination.

Atkins moves into range and clinches up with Mac.
Mac landing knees to the head.
Mac leaning his opponent against the cage.

Mac breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Mac counters with a slapping leg kick.
Atkins chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mac can pounce on him.
Mac misses with a low kick as Atkins jumps back.
Atkins throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Atkins lands a leg kick that knocks Mac off balance momentarily.

Mac is trying to pull guard but Atkins has him pressed against the cage.
Atkins stalling in the clinch but Mac improves position.

Michael doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Michael takes a jab right on the kisser.
Michael misses with the body kick
and Oswell counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Michael thinking.

Michael doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Oswell counters with a three punch combo that has Michael backing up. Michael nods at Oswell to acknowledge the strikes.

It looks like Thomas Michael has been cut.

Donk. Oswell catches Michael right on the button with a cross.
Michael changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Oswell tries to avoid it but Michael manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Oswell to the ground. Oswell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Michael drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Oswell moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Oswell drops Michael with a beautiful combination! Michael stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Oswell is looking for the KO!

Michael is rocked!

and Oswell comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Michael stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Oswell is on him like rabid pit bull! Michael slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
