And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elizondo Tacos!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshioka looks to score with a jab to the body but Tacos is just out of range.
Tacos throws a low kick but it's checked well by Yoshioka.
Yoshioka misses the jab.

Tacos drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tacos content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Tacos postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Yoshioka is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tacos, into his guard.

Yoshioka has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Tacos to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Yoshioka is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Tacos pulls down on the head and he's put Yoshioka to sleep! This one is all over!

Elizondo Tacos is the new light heavyweight champion!
Elizondo Tacos decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caschera showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tar.
Caschera tries to bum rush Tar with a series of wild strikes but Tar uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Tar throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Caschera counters with a left and a right that hurts Tar! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Caschera jumps into full mount!

Tar is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Caschera looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Tar is still in real trouble! Can Caschera finish him?
Tar tries to reverse the position but Caschera maintains control.
Tar seems to have recovered his senses.
Caschera softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Tar is out cold! Caschera jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Max Caschera!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Roode in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Smith tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Roode!
