Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Malcolm Master!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Artur Sowinski!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Master shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sowinski as he avoids it easily.
Master avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for Sowinski, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sowinski smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Master takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Master takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Sowinski stuns Master with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Sowinski cracks Master with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Master changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sowinski looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Master tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Master has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Master thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Master is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Sowinski looks calm but he's in trouble here. Master gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Sowinski is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Master lets go of the hold and Sowinski can pop his arm back in it's socket.

That kick from Jones tenderised Carvalho's leg. Carvalho is trying to keep his angry face on.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Carvalho, as that shot connected.
Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Carvalho connects with a right hand. Jones shakes it off.
Jones throws a hook but Carvalho blocks it.
Jones is looking to chop away at Carvalho's legs.
Grimlock Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carvalho slips a straight right by Jones.
Carvalho throws a leg kick but Jones sees it coming and moves out of range.
Jones tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Carvalho uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Jones tries to reverse the position but Carvalho maintains control.
Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Bing kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Metallica - All Nightmare Long. Powers is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: We Run This - Missy Elliot. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Bing throws a looping overhand right but Powers ducks down to avoid it.
Jerome Powers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bing lands a glancing blow to the side of Powers's head.
Powers tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bing sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Powers somewhat.

Powers uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bing has time to react.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Powers lands a big shot there that rocks Bing but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
