2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabio Mafra! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.

Soares swings for the body but Mafra moves out of range.
Mano Soares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Soares shoots in for a takedown but Mafra shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Soares throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mafra's waist but Mafra gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Soares off to one side. A decent looking cross lands there for Soares.
Soares throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mafra tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Soares is in Mafra's guard. Mafra looks gassed!
Soares is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Soares throws a big elbow that misses.

Mafra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Soares doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Soares manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Soares passes Mafra's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Soares is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mafra doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Soares.
Soares is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mafra is just riding it out for now. Soares eventually gives up the hold.

Dillaway comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Dillaway lands a really nice looking cross but Ryan seems unphased.
Ryan takes one to the chin there. Dillaway feints a jab promting Ryan to slip. Dillaway then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ryan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Ryan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dillaway swivels and escapes. Dillaway leaves Ryan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Dillaway throws a series of punches but Ryan moves out of range. Dillaway with a hook. Donk. Dillaway catches Ryan right on the button with a cross. Dillaway throws a series of strikes that have Ryan backpedaling.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dillaway throws a right and a left that Ryan avoids nicely. A left lands for Dillaway. Dillaway scores with a one two! Ryan had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Dillaway pushes down on Ryan's head and hops out. Jefferson Dillaway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Ryan. Dillaway looks to land a combination. Ryan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Dillaway on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dillaway tries to get out of the position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Dillaway trying to control the position.

Ryan seems to have locked his on tight now - Dillaway screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ryan, as he picks up the win!

Skjelbred throws a series of punches but Black moves out of range. Skjelbred cracks Black with an open hand slap. Black throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Skjelbred. Skjelbred lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Black backs up against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Frank Black. Well Skjelbred has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Bobby Blimm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blimm shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dog eats them both and turns towards Blimm to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dog connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Blimm's hands. That was a close second round but I would say that Bobby Blimm will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

Blimm goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Blimm chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Blimm regains half guard there - taking advantage of Dog's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Blimm wants to control but Dog is keeping busy.

Jakort is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sanosuke pulls him back up using the underhooks. Sanosuke lands a left hand that snaps the head of Jakort backwards. That's going to take a lot out of Lewis Tsushima. Golem throws a lazy right hand but Tsushima sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Tsushima fails with a takedown attempt. Tsushima changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Golem tries to avoid it but Tsushima manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Golem to the ground. Golem escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Tsushima throws a chopping leg kick but Golem manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tsushima connects with a nice short shot to Golem's temple. Tsushima is figuring out what he wants to do next. Tsushima thows a huge punch but Golem dodges it nicely.
Golem is trying to maintain the position but Tsushima is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tsushima is keen to just control but Golem is a slippery customer. Golem has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tsushima is working away from the top position though. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Steele works his way to full guard. Good work.
