Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maui Mayhem! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Aden Chamber! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mayhem swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Chamber thows a left - swing and a miss! Chamber shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mayhem dips to his left and cracks Chamber with an uppercut! A slow jab from Mayhem misses its intended target. Mayhem just misses with a punch to the body.
Mayhem gets the takedown into side control. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Mayhem is trying to ground and pound but Chamber uses the momentary lack of control by Mayhem to regain half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mayhem thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chamber's head. Mayhem looks to land a strike but Chamber avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mayhem sitting in guard, not really doing much. Mayhem trying to control the position from guard on top but Chamber is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mayhem accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Chamber keeping moving, preventing Mayhem from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Maui Mayhem wasn't doing enough on the ground. Chamber throws a sloppy head kick and Mayhem moves out of range easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mayhem takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. A combination from Chamber does no damage. Mayhem scores with a jab to the jaw. Mayhem lands with a right hand. Mayhem throws a hook but Chamber blocks it. Mayhem throws a shot to the body.
Chamber tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mayhem sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chamber somewhat. Mayhem fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Chamber to the ground. Mayhem is now in Chamber's guard. Chamber is looking to stand up but Mayhem isn't so interested in that idea. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mayhem advances to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chamber trying to control but Mayhem postures up.
Mayhem looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Mayhem throwing shots but Chamber is blocking nicely. Mayhem controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Aden Chamber. Mayhem throws a hook but Chamber blocks it. Mayhem throws a big shot that misses. Left hook, right uppercut from Chamber. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A big right from Mayhem misses. Chamber throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Chamber throws a right hand that Mayhem ducks under and follows up with a left that Mayhem also avoids with ease. Chamber paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Chamber stuffs the takedown attempt from Mayhem. Mayhem gets slowly back to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mayhem throws out a loose jab but Chamber uses good head movement to avoid it. Mayhem loads up on a big right hand but Chamber slips the punch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Maui Mayhem will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Mayhem steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chamber. Chamber throws a hook to the side of Mayhem's head but Mayhem sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mayhem avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Chamber misses with a few strikes there.
No joy there for Chamber, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A combination from Chamber does no damage. Chamber throws a good cross that connects.
Mayhem stuffs the takedown. Chamber keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mayhem. Mayhem lands a nice shot that snaps Chamber's head back.
Chamber defending well as Mayhem loads up on a big left hand. A left lands for Chamber. Mayhem looks to land a right hand but Chamber moved out of range. Mayhem misses with a looping left. Mayhem works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Chamber gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mayhem trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Chamber has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mayhem has passed into side control.
Mayhem lands a few punches from side control. Chamber is trying to control Mayhem's posture but Mayhem avoids it. Mayhem looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Chamber is avoiding damage well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mayhem postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Mayhem misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Mayhem trying to control the position but Chamber is working away. Mayhem throwing shots but missing, from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chamber is trying to get back to his feet. Mayhem tries to move to mount but Chamber blocks the move with his legs. Mayhem working away. Chamber gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Chamber can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mayhem throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Mayhem looking to ground and pound but Chamber is blocking nicely. Mayhem with a couple of short strikes. Mayhem lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Chamber tries to hold on but Mayhem pushes him away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mayhem landing shots from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Maui Mayhem dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Chamber throws a sloppy head kick and Mayhem moves out of range easily. Mayhem steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chamber. A swing and a miss from Mayhem. Chamber doesn't manage to clinch there - Mayhem circles away.
Chamber tries to bum rush Mayhem with a series of wild strikes but Mayhem uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Aden Chamber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chamber slips a jab from Mayhem. Mayhem is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Mayhem fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Chamber on the side of the head. Mayhem misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Chamber.

Mayhem closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mayhem is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chamber has a hand on Mayhem's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Mayhem takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Mayhem scoring with strikes but Chamber is staying in there. Mayhem cracks Chamber with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Mayhem thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mayhem cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mayhem postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Chamber looks a forlorn figure.
Mayhem throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Mayhem landing strikes from the mount and Chamber is in trouble! This has been an exciting period of action! Mayhem misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The referee warns Chamber that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mayhem pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Mayhem looking to control and managing it successfully. Mayhem lands a nice shot to the head. Chamber takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mayhem tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mayhem with a couple of short strikes. Chamber takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Mayhem looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Mayhem with good strikes from the mount here! Aden Chamber has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee warns Chamber that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chamber can do anything to dispel that myth. Mayhem working Chamber over with strikes here.
And that's the end of the fight! Maui Mayhem showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mayhem, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Opp throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKinnon is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Alvarez shoots in and drives through. McKinnon sprawls well. McKinnon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alvarez. McKinnon tries to clinch but Alvarez is having none of it. McKinnon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alvarez. Alvarez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Oli McKinnon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Santiago Alvarez. McKinnon's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and McKinnon duly obliges.
It looks like Santiago Alvarez has been cut. Alvarez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. McKinnon tries for a takedown but Alvarez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. McKinnon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McKinnon wants it to stay on the feet. Horrible takedown by Alvarez or perhaps it was just good defense by McKinnon which made him look bad. Alvarez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Alvarez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. McKinnon is desperately trying to improve his position but Alvarez has a good base and remains in mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alvarez is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Alvarez extends the arm and McKinnon is forced to tap!

and Pyykko counters with a nice uppercut. T Bass takes a body punch but keeps moving. Pyykko looks to land a left hand but T Bass moved out of range nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. T Bass doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Good standup being displayed there by Pyykko as he connects with a hook. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Urbano shoots and misses and Bulli counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Urbano's guard now. Bulli postures up.

Uncle Bulli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bulli stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bulli wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Primotivo Urbano. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bulli tries a head kick but it misses.

Urbano could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Bulli throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Urbano on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bulli tries to stand and escape but Urbano is controlling the position. Bulli is pressing down on Urbano's thigh, looking to free his foot. Urbano is holding on for now. Bulli escapes and gets back to his feet.

Urbano shoots in and drives through. Bulli sprawls well. Urbano shoots for a double leg takedown but Bulli sprawls well. He's pushed Urbano's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Bulli misses with a head kick.
Urbano moves out of range of the body kick. Bulli looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Urbano keeping moving, preventing Bulli from controlling successfully. Urbano is trying to keep Bulli in close.

Bulli decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. It looks like Bulli is going to stand back up.

Uncle Bulli dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bulli can do anything to dispel that myth. Urbano landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Urbano winds up and cracks Bulli with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Bulli pushes Urbano off looking to stand but Urbano dives back in and keeps control.
Bulli is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Urbano's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Urbano's back!

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Urbano fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bulli to the ground. Urbano is now in Bulli's guard. Urbano trying to control but Bulli is working from the bottom. Urbano throwing strikes from guard but Bulli blocks nicely. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Urbano won't allow Bulli to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Urbano accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bulli looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Bulli throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Urbano scoring with some ground and pound. Urbano tries to free his leg and advance position but Bulli is retaining full guard. Bulli avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Urbano trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bulli manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Urbano manages to get himself to full guard.
