Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Rath! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mikko Koskinen! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rath misses with a takedown attempt - Koskinen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Koskinen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rath. Koskinen blocks a low kick nicely. A head kick misses from Rath. Koskinen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rath to the mat! Rath manages to get full guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Rath pulls Koskinen in close to prevent any damage. Koskinen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rath looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rath looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rath! Koskinen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Rath off and has taken his back! Koskinen throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Rath looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Koskinen is striking well from the back but Rath escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rath is looking to improve his position.
Koskinen works his way into side control. Koskinen looks up at the clock and then as Rath takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Koskinen smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Rath is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Koskinen looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Rath is avoiding damage well.
Rath knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Koskinen on the ground. Koskinen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Koskinen sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rath is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rath is looking to reverse the position. Koskinen fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Rath tries to buck Koskinen off but Koskinen is having none of it. Rath can't do much from the bottom here. Koskinen throws an elbow but Rath slips to the side and avoids it well. Koskinen working the ground and pound but Rath is defending the strikes. Koskinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rath keeps working. Koskinen misses with the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Koskinen in side control lands a decent elbow. Koskinen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rath knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Koskinen wants to control but Rath is keeping him busy. Koskinen wants to take a breather but Rath manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Koskinen. Rath wants to sweep here but Koskinen controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rath utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Rath working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Koskinen. Koskinen trying to control the position from guard on top but Rath is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rath wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Rath tries to land a sweep but no joy. Koskinen with a flurry of punches that miss. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rath controlling the position. Koskinen connects with a couple of short punches. Koskinen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rath is breathing heavily. Koskinen trying to control the position from guard on top but Rath is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mikko Koskinen dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Rath closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Koskinen did well to prevent Rath getting side control. Koskinen wants to control but Rath is keeping busy.
Koskinen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rath's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rath's back! Koskinen looking for the choke from the back. Koskinen is not going to allow Rath to sit and survive in this position. Koskinen is cranking Rath's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Rath! He's tightened the choke and Rath is tapping out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yauch keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Yauch defends well against a solid takedown attempt from FernandoSilva. Yauch displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Marc Timothy FernandoSilva has been cut. Yauch slaps away a takedown attempt from FernandoSilva, before circling back to the center of the mat. Adam Yauch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marc Timothy FernandoSilva. Yauch lands the left hand. FernandoSilva shoots in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yauch swivels and escapes. FernandoSilva looks gassed! Yauch cracks FernandoSilva with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Yauch stuns FernandoSilva with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Yauch lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Yauch is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jab from Yauch. FernandoSilva takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Yauch lands a jab to the nose. Yauch lands a head shot. Marc Timothy FernandoSilva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Yauch connects with a single shot there. Yauch fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

FernandoSilva is rocked! Yauch throws a perfectly timed hook that sends FernandoSilva crashing down! FernandoSilva tries to stagger back to his feet but Yauch just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused FernandoSilva asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adam Yauch! A relieved looking Adam Yauch thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! ZyD throws a half hearted mid kick. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from ZyD. Mison looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. ZyD looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Mison throws a combination but it was largely blocked by ZyD. ZyD shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. ZyD throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. ZyD uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Mison tries to score a power double leg takedown but ZyD sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mison somewhat. ZyD throws a low kick but Mison avoids it. ZyD lands with a slapping head kick. Mison closes this distance looking for a takedown but ZyD circles away. Cheater ZyD has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mariano Mison. ZyD throws a head kick but Mison moves out of range.

That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. ZyD cracks Mison with a right hand to the side of the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. ZyD misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mison's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

ZyD throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Mison shoots in for a takedown but ZyD shows good takedown defense. ZyD throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Mison is trying desperately to land a takedown but ZyD is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Mison. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mison has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by ZyD. Mison displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as ZyD throws out the jab. Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Mison might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, ZyD has got the better of the exchanges. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. ZyD misses with an attempted mid kick.

Mison closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mariano Mison has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Mison is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! ZyD is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
