Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rush Gsp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Idris Omar! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Omar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gsp. A jab from Omar misses. Omar looks to land a left hand but Gsp moved out of range nicely. Omar throws a poor cross that misses
so Gsp counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Omar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Omar wants to sweep but no luck. Omar looking to control.
Omar looking for a sweep. Not yet Omar, not yet. Omar is trying to keep Gsp in close.
Gsp throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Omar works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gsp trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Omar is trying to control the position but Gsp postures up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Idris Omar was stalling too much, according to the referee. Gsp fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Omar to the ground. Gsp is now in Omar's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Omar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Omar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Omar wants to get back to his feet but Gsp is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Gsp stopping the sweep attempt from Omar. Omar controls Gsp momentarily but Gsp frees himself. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Gsp preventing the sweep. Gsp in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Omar can do anything to dispel that myth. Gsp drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Omar dives on top into guard. Omar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Gsp is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gsp working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Omar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Gsp is tightening it up a little... Omar has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Omar reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Omar taps out! Nice BJJ there by Gsp!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jack as he jumps to the side. Jack misses with a two punch combination.
Jack closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Tyson Jackson has been cut. Jack will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Jackson moves out of range of the leg kick from Jack. Jack takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jackson shoots for a takedown but Jack saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jackson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Jack lands a left and a right that sends Jackson crashing to the canvas! Jack dives into mount looking to finish!
Jackson is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Jackson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Jack wants to stand up but Jackson is controlling the position.
Jackson keeps control of the position for the meantime. Jackson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jackson. Jack missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jackson is adopting a defensive guard. Jack postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson pulls Jack in close to prevent any damage. Jack is sitting in close to Jackson's body. Jackson has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Jack is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Jack is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Jackson.
