A close third round but Teddy Exley just about did enough to take it. That's time! Back to the action!
Exley ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lyle moves away. Lyle avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Exley fails with an attempt to clinch.
Exley shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lyle manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Exley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Exley trying to control the position from guard on top but Lyle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lyle pushes a forearm under Exley's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Exley is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 4, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jon Lyle! Jon Lyle retains his middleweight title!
