Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phillepe Gagne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masro Carnibal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gagne comes to the cage accompanied by Fight Music by D12. Masro Carnibal struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 187.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Masro Carnibal! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gagne throws a series of punches but Carnibal avoids them all with ease. Gagne looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carnibal is fending him off so far but Gagne persists. Nope, Carnibal circles away and we're back to standing. Gagne misses with a two punch combination.

and Gagne counters with a lovely straight right hand! Carnibal wants to clinch. Carnibal avoids a lazy jab quite easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gagne looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Carnibal walks into a jab.

Carnibal takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Gagne rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carnibal moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A jab lands there for Gagne. Gagne fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carnibal manages to avoid it. Gagne works over Carnibal's head and body with a nice combination. Carnibal takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Gagne will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Carnibal is working an open guard so Gagne takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Masro Carnibal is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gagne feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Carnibal avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Gagne is looking to work some ground and pound but Carnibal has wrist control. Usw shoots for a takedown but the phenom saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. the phenom scores with a takedown into Usw's guard. the phenom trying to control the position from guard on top but Usw is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. the phenom trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. the phenom with a nice head shot there. the phenom trying to control but Usw is working from the bottom. the phenom throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Robson moves in looking to clinch but Stevenson pushes him off. Stevenson tries to keep at a distance but Robson has taken the fight into the clinch. Robson tries a knee to the head but Stevenson blocks it.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Foreman misses with a knee to the head. Foreman is trying to maintain a safe position but Chernenko gets an underhook and turns Foreman into the cage. Foreman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Chernenko punching from mount but Foreman doing a good job of avoiding damage. Hugh Chernenko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Chernenko goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Foreman turns into him and now he's in Chernenko's guard.
Chernenko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Chernenko wants to stand but Foreman is controlling the position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dhaliwal misses with a straight left. Reyes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dhaliwal to score an easy takedown into full guard. Dhaliwal is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
