Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Earl Morris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Riley Neil! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morris misses with a body kick. Morris rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Neil moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Morris throws a series of punches but Neil avoids them all with ease. Neil misses with a low kick as Morris jumps back. Neil closes the distance and clinches up with Morris, looking for a takedown. Neil pushes Morris against the cage but Morris circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Morris throws a series of punches but Neil avoids them all with ease. Morris misses with a double jab.
Neil scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Morris taking a bit of punishment here - Neil scoring with strikes. Neil throws a strike aimed at the side of Morris's head but Morris avoids it well. Neil in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Neil fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Morris is trying to buck Neil off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neil scoring with punches from side control. Morris defending against the ground and pound. Neil lands a few punches from side control. Neil taking a breather here. Neil working the ground and pound. Neil has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Check out the look on Neil's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Morris is letting Neil control him for a moment. Neil trying to control the position but Morris is working away. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Neil lands a decent elbow from side control. Neil cracks Morris with an elbow. That is naaassty. That's three minutes gone in the round. Neil is looking to take a break and control but Morris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Morris knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Neil on the ground. Neil is chipping away with strikes.
Neil scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Morris to see if he's OK. Neil connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Morris some visible discomfort.
Morris on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Morris tries to get out of the position. Neil controls the position. Neil working the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Neil throws an elbow but Morris slips to the side and avoids it well. Neil throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Morris is letting Neil control him for a moment. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Neil working the head and body with strikes. Neil working the ground and pound. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Morris avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Neil. Neil cracks Morris with a big right hand but Morris just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Riley Neil dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A big left from Neil misses. Neil fails with the takedown. Neil drives through with a takedown into guard. Neil throws an elbow that misses. Morris uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Neil's guard. Nice move by Morris! Neil is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Morris defends well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Neil has a closed guard, preventing Morris from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neil is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Morris rolls with it to try and escape but Neil cranks on the arm and Morris is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
